Interesting comparison. Very similar resumes.

MSU one more win: 12-1 vs 11-1

MSU Best Wins: OSU, Mich, Oreg, Iowa - only one game at home
Okla Best Wins: Baylor, Tenn, Okla St, TCU - only one game at home but a couple backup QBs

Losses were identical. Close games vs talented 5-7 teams.

Rest of Schedule: Probably slight edge for Oklahoma here. They took on WVU, TT type teams where as MSU had some of the bottom feeders of the Big Ten peppered in like Purdue, Maryland, Rutgers, etc....Both teams had a couple games vs noncompetitive teams.

I'd lean toward MSU due to quality of wins and Oklahoma getting Baylor and TCU at end of year when they were not elite anymore.

Honestly I think it's kind of BS that Oklahoma is even in the playoffs. They didn't play in a conference championship, and they still had a loss this year. If they went undefeated, sure. But the Big12 needs to be penalized for being the only conference that didn't have one.

I'd rather be the 4 seed than the 3, assuming Clemson remains #1. Clemson seems like a better matchup than Alabama.

2 thoughts:

1) agree that OU doesn't belong. Just posted in another thread that, unless I missed something, the toughest D they played all year was Tennessee at #46. They also played 4 of the 27 worst D's in the nation and 3 more between 94 and 100. That's 6 of 12 games versus the the bottom 33 D's in the nation. 'Bama is #2, Clemson #7, MSU #27 and has been getting better and better every week since we played them.

2) think Clemson is overrated and 'Bama, MSU, or Iowa, would/will beat them. Believe they're a product of a pretty weak ACC schedule, but, we'll see!

I think MSU jumps them.

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. MSU
4. Oklahoma

I agree with Nuts. Clemson is overrated but they still did run the table in a "power 5" conference so deserve the playoffs. OU on the other hand should also get snubbed for the same reason @AreYouNUTS mentioned.
