Cobblestone rides uphill are much easier then downhill sections as speed becomes a huge factor. And if it rains all bets are off like the TT ride Friday. TT bikes are unstable. Amazing so few dumped it Friday on that short cobblestone in to the finish

Agree on the beard. Thought John Daly joined the booth lol. However I have to give Bob credit for stepping into Paul Sherwin's spot, after his untimely passing. Paul loved the history of every city the Tour passed through and was excellent passing it along. Bob, not a history buff embraced the responsibility. Part in Paul's memory but mostly, everyone loves it, watching the Tour. He still gets his jokes in but has become a complete professional. He and Phil are a great team and a joy to listen to.
I agree about Bob. To me he has become cycling's John Madden.

yes, 1000% fan's fault... ZERO reason to be in the road EVER.. and the dirt is the road too...Im not into the Tour that much but this is crazy. Fans fault right? The rider was extremely close to the fans along the side. The fan should've been smarter and more aware of his surroundings. There should be some kind of rope barrier or something.

I mean....it happens....... but, it was pretty damn bush league.... guy handing out the feed bags (it was another team, not Pinot's) has to know.. you DON'T reach around a rider....... it's like the first thing you learn....
Not sure that it was wise for Tadej to have the whip out today (upcoming rest day notwithstanding). His main rival's teams are stronger and he has lost a teammate. On Tuesday I expect Jumbo Visma to send Roglic out on a breakaway forcing UAE to work. There are also the teams with designs on mountain stage wins that could provide breakaway support. Then there is Ineos Grenadiers very strong team (as usual) with two legit GC contenders. Pocacar has proven enormously talented and strong but there is a lot of hard racing in the mountains left to go. I am not ready to call it yet.
will be fun to see.... but it wasn't just one guy setting pace today.. the whole team was there at the end.... i think Emirates showed a lot... They don't need any more stage wins (tho I likely get a 1 or 2 more in the Pyrenees ) I can't see anyone gaining much time on Tadej.
Stage racing at its best. Tactics and sh*t happening. It's good to see that there is still a race for the overall.
That was one of the most incredible stages in years. Wow so much happened from the beginning to the end!
Pogacar tried to attach several times today but Vingegaard never lost contact with him so no change at the top. Stage was won by Tom Pidcock who in the last year won gold at the Olympics for Mountain Bike, won this year's World Cyclo-Cross Championship and now a win in his first year at the Tour de France up the famous Alpe d'Huez.
They did a lot of work for a change in the lead of just 4 seconds.
