OT: Oregon State and Washington State are likely to join the West Coast Conference

I've had DirecTV, Xfinity (Comcast) and now YouTube TV since the Pac 12 Network was created. Not once has that channel ever been offered. Has been mentioned elsewhere, but going it alone - and not teaming with the likes of Fox and ESPN - was incredibly dumb.

Larry Scott should be a business school case study it poor management. George Kliakoff will be part of that study on how to double down on poor management.

WSU and OSU felt they were better overall in basketball and football. And they believed their Olympic sports were superior across the board.

Yes, because people want point out Rutgers as the least deserving power 5 team. They never look at the entire reason behind what conferences want when looking at schools.

That's called B1G envy. With their backs to the wall, they have to cry about others who they think should be thrown under the bus as well. Akin to a sibling getting caught and punished, then ratting out their brother/sister to drag them down too. Those two teams might personally bring in more viewers to watch them vs RU (I dont know the numbers), but they dont bring the Big Apple and the Tri-State area into the mix. RU was a slam dunk for the B1G as evidenced by the explosion in the media rights deal once Rutgers entered the fray.

Your comment on the media deal is spot on. I feel that has caused other conferences to panic out of fear they could lose members to more profitable leagues. Some conferences, no matter what, will never reach the level of the B1G when it comes to paying members a ridiculous amount of money. Rutgers is partly responsible for the surge in media deal payouts. Like they say in real estate one of the most important things is location, location, location. Now, our sports teams are more than holding their own in just about every sports, so kills the Oregon State and Wazzu argument.
