OT: Overnight euro showing snow for this Friday evening

For those curious, there is still the potential for a winter storm next Thursday/Friday, but as expected this far out, models are all over the place for each run, showing everything from nada to mostly rain with some snow inland to significant snow for everyone.
Flying to Tampa early Friday morning
Hopefully this doesn't materialize

Thanks for the updates. Oddly enough, I live just one town away from East Hanover in Roseland and my apple weather app is now showing a bunch if snow in roseland tonight yet one town away in east hanover, no snow. What are you seeing for east hanover tonight?
No change in the forecast other than the light precip tonight (still around 0.05") could be a mix of rain and snow showers (no accumulation) as temps will likely be in the mid/upper 30s vs the ~40F forecast yesterday.

Flakes are flying in Philly and the surrounding area - no accumulation expected with temps well above 32F. Hopefully we'll see some of those flakes up here soon...

Point forecast in ringoes is for "periods of snow" the remained of the day. Radar algo shows snow over us. All rain, not even a flake lol.

Hopefully this isn't a prelude to a long, cold, gray and snowy winter!!
Most winter predictions I've seen (including NOAA's) are for a warmer than normal winter with normal precip levels, implying less snow than normal, although the 2000-2020 period which was the 2nd snowiest 20-year period in recorded history, featured generally well above normal temps, so it's quite possible to have warmth and snow, as long as the timing of precip and cold is aligned. Anyway, while I'd love to see a snowy, cold winter, I put little stock in winter predictions, as I haven't seen winter predictions that are anywhere near as accurate as tropical season activity predictions.

Haven't seen one flake yet
Wow, would've thought you would before us, given that folks towards Philly got flakes. Not one here either. Still possible, but not counting on it. If only this had hit in a month - could've been a big snowmaker for most.

For those curious, the Euro and CMC at 12Z showed a moderate to significant (2-5"/4-8" range) snowfall for just NW of 95 and beyond with just a little snow along 95 and nada towards the coast (all rain), while the GFS shows no storm. The models have not been consistent from run to run either, although the key point is a winter storm of some sort is looking at least somewhat likely for Thursday into Friday. Worth watching.

As usual, forecasts beyond 7-8 days (especially for snow) are pretty inaccurate in the finer details, but we certainly do have a major winter storm going on for interior NY/New England with winter storm warnings up for most, so the ski resorts from the Catskills through New England should do well (could be a slushy 1-2" in NW Sussex and the Poconos). Another good soaking rain for our area today and then winter arrives on Saturday through next week with highs in the upper 30s/low 40s and lows in the 20s, but dry.

Could be some light accumulating snow, the first of the season for the vast majority of the Philly-NJ-NYC region, on Wednesday night with a potential Alberta Clipper type system and cold air in place. Only looking like an inch or less on most models, but sometimes these storms can overperform and drop 2-3". Could also whiff.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...
The brisk northwest flow may finally diminish toward Wednesday.
This will be due to an approaching Alberta Clipper which
guidance is projecting will cross the region on Wednesday night.
With cold air in place, its possible we could see a widespread,
albeit light, accumulating snow, so have chance of snow in the
forecast for much of the region. The far southern areas,
southern NJ and central Delmarva, may yet be a bit too warm for
anything other than a mix or some cold rain, but still a long
ways off.
