OT: People renting out their pools and yards

I saw an ad for installing a backyard hitting cage. One of the benefits was “you can rent it out on blah blah affiliated app”.

Had the same thought. How would insurance cover it?

Dumb question, but wouldn’t that also apply to everyone who works remotely from their home? If I closed a $100M deal working out of my house wouldn’t that be conducting commercial activities?
I don’t have the exact wording in front of me but HO policies now allow for work from home office activities

I would love to rent peoples pools / backyards for some of these hot summer afternoons. Swimply doesn’t seem to have an inventory in north Jersey last time I checked. Where else would you find someone renting out their pool ?

Also- an insurance waiver to anyone renting your pool is only going to help if a guest gets hurt 100% their own fault.
Doesn’t do you much good either if they do serious damages.
100% agree yrs a go my nephew trespassed on a fenced in yd where there was a dog that was tied up in the yd....the dog bit pretty bad on his calf, my sister sued them and they won....to this day I still have no idea how she could have won when her son was trespassing on a neighbors enclosed yard and the dog was tied up as well. Had to be 40yrs ago and they got either $5k or $10k. Seems ludicrous

Can’t you just see it?

Balled up dirty diapers
Cigarette butts (other drug paraphernalia)
Puke
Pee
Broken pots
The eternal hate of your formerly civil neighbors

☺️

My brother has a beautiful pool at his property in Fairfax County, Virginia. The location is secluded in the woods, out of view of neighbors and motorists. Does a lot of business renting to Muslim women and girls who can swim and relax with the comfort of 100% privacy. They never cause any trouble. Arrive, spend a few hours at the pool, then leave.

I have a backyard batting cage. No way would I rent it out to anyone.

I dunno. I regularly rent out my hookers and blow stash. Sure there's extra risk. But it's my way of giving back to my community.
