thats what happens when one team has a coach and some bench with actual players on it..Their second-teamers, as well as their total bench-warmers (who rarely get time in games), made the most of their time and didn't miss shots. It wasn't a matter of sportsmanship, it's a matter of them not missing layups or threes. They got a lot of offensive boards, which meant they were five feet from the bucket on their next shot. We are depleted and haven't got much fire power other than Corey, and had no big men playing tonight.
And I never bitch about sportsmanship--if you don't want to get crushed, don't put yourself in a position to be crushed.
Please don't post this in the Football board, some of us are trying to pretend that Rutgers doesn't have a Men's Basketball team.
They played 11 guys 14 minutes or more and 13 overall with the other two getting 4 minutes each. One starter played 21 minutes and the rest played less then 20. What more do you want Purdue to do? Intentionally miss shots? Not play defense? Can anyone shed some light as to why a B10 team would pour it on like this knowing full well our BB is struggling? I'm not begrudging anyone a win but where's the ****ing sportsmanship?
way to bash the team(like we all dont know they arent good) classy......As I said in the BBall thread: "I am not BBall guy but I turned the game on. Does our team really look like a high school team? Every kid is giving up 25lbs and 1 foot. Is there any decent HS BBall player out there that wants to start for a B1G team??????"
F$cking sad. Won't tune in again. I felt sorry for that high school team we dressed in RU uniforms tonight.
Purdue had 13 players get time on the court. We only had 7 or 8 player healthy enough to suit up. The height differential was a big factor too. Sure, we suck, but its tough to say how much the coaching is to blame.
Having no depth is an indictment of the coaching staff. And it isn't exactly like a mostly healthy roster was blowing people away.
