Interesting game.

Monmouth just lost at home to Iona, and it was never close.

St. Peter's led late in game but Robinson tied it at the line to force OT

too bad.

anyway their wins not looking as impressive as Gtown has tanked and UCLA has falled way behind the NCAA bubble. If they make the finals of the MAAC and lose they probably get in as there is a lack of midmajor at large candidates this year but any other slip up before that and they are toast

About Monmouth as I have season tix for them and was at the Iona game Friday night as well:

- Arguably their heart and soul Deon Jones (along with Justin Robinson) - is probably out for the year with a broken hand or wrist. He scores about 12-14 PPG and does a lot of their dirty work (rebounding etc) and losing him is a MAJOR blow to their talent and psyche. He got hurt Monday vs Manhattan.

- Against Iona, Monmouth was flat out intimidated as Iona outmuscled them big time. Furthermore no one stepped up for Monmouth to be the 2nd option behind Justin Robinson - as Monmouth will need optimal production from Micah Searborn; Colin Stewart and Hornbeak if they want to win the MAAC.

- Also I think by Monmouth winning today - they clinched or tied for the #1 seed in the MAAC Tourney. Is that correct?

By the way, the MAC on Friday Night was rockin - as it has been for many of MU's home games this year. Great student turnout as many of the games have been sold out.

And in typical "we had a great season - now pay up" - MU raised their season ticket prices already for next year....:).

It's still a great bargain as I have 7th row seats and tix price were raised $50......lol

Was at game. Friday was record attendance against Iona. Over 4400. Student section was good. Too bad they lost.

I've been to 4-5 games this year.

Games are fun , tickets are reasonable and the Arena is a good place to see a game.

Yes losing the Jones kid was a hit for them but I think teams over the course of 30 games have up and down spurts and they are in a down phase at the moment.

I think they have to win the league and get to the Final to get consideration. That isn't a lock by any means. Three point shooting teams die in that big Arena historically.

Bac I heard Reese Davis say the other night that the committee places a big emphasis on road wins-----they beat those clubs away from home------we'll see.

Reading this year's headlines, Monmouth has college basketball's best bench ;-). None of those clowns stepped up to fill-in for the injured player? Too much time and effort spent crafting the Star Wars act?

Most of those guys are walkons-----which would qualify them to be rotation players at Rutgers.

Maybe

How about we have a 3 on 3 game between the Monmouth Walkons and the RU Walkons.

Ought to pack them in.

Unfair fight. Monmouth walk-ons have been able to practice and develop all season. Rutgers players limited to film work and whirlpools.

Interesting stat. Monmouth didn't hit a shot in OT, but went 18 for 18 from the line, 10 of 10 for Robinson.

Jones' cast is coming off this week I believe. Doubt he plays in MAAC tourney. May have a chance at NCAA's/NIT.
