I give a bravo to anyone that invokes Caddyshack! Bravo RaRa, Bravo indeed!
I'm pretty sure Spaulding is the unofficial mascot of Penn State.

You will get nothing and like it

Ha sad but truePlum…we’ve seen firsthand that not every coach does try to ‘come away with points’ on drives.
I want a hamburger....no, cheeseburger. I want a hot dog, I want a milk shake...You will get nothing and like it
I hear it used for cfb and nhl
They use it in cycling also. Stupid phrase.I hear it used for cfb and nhl
Yeah it could be 9.5 or something of the sort . I get it but I agree it’s dumb , especially in that situation . I can see it used on 4th and 1.Heard a new one today during one of the the bowl games.
First down pass falls incomplete. Next line should be "2nd and 10' Right? Wrong?
As the team comes to the line of scrimmage the announcer says: "Second and a full ten"
What does that even mean?Is it possible to have a different kind of ten? The guy must have said it about a dozen times.
I hear phrases like Johnson's all the time, on radio and TV. They make sense, right? "Two" can be 1.51 yards to 2.49 yards. I can readily imagine a coach making different play calls based on whether that "two" is short or long. But "2nd and a full ten" makes sense only following a 1st down running play that went for no gain. I've heard worse phrases, but it's not a very smart one.Yeah it could be 9.5 or something of the sort . I get it but I agree it’s dumb , especially in that situation . I can see it used on 4th and 1.
Bruce Johnson used to use that lingo . Third and a long 2 . For radio I thought that was good
You mean when we were on defense??? 😂Never heard ‘full ten’ before. Obviously you didn’t hear it during a Rutgers game, where that announcer would have often said “second down and the usual 12’
Possibly WASTING A TIME OUT ?BURN a timeout.
WHAT'S WRONG WITH USE A TIMEOUT OR CALL A TIMEOUT.
WTF did BURN come from?

Idea: timeouts are physical papers that the HC must actually burn in order signal to the refs.
Like the Vatican.
Same with "burning a redshirt".
Before the game or the play - the player has to physically rip off a red jersey Hulk Hogan style and toss it into a fire pit on the sideline.
By announcers and about a bajillion in studio analysts: “When you talk about [insert name], you talk about . . . .”There are certain phrases and terms in sports that I find annoying and over used.
My least favorite:
"Burn his redshirt"
Your nomination??
