It was much more a Savage issue than a Schiano issue....to Tom's credit he did a lot of growing upI've heard team people say things about Tom Savage for the last 2 years and not one of those things has been bad.
Ya really have to wonder what our upside would have been if Schiano could have made the whole Tom Savage thing work out for us.
Wouldn't that be somthin'Hope to see him earn the starting roll.
Savage was a baby that made bad decisions. He apologized to schiano .I've heard team people say things about Tom Savage for the last 2 years and not one of those things has been bad.

He married her last June. His wedding was actually in New Jersey down the shore in Wildwood Crest.I'd love to know if the girl he was dating when he was at Rutgers, and who so many on here, blamed for Tom's disinterest in off season training, and other non,and football related problems, is still his girlfriend.

If he stayed I believe we would have been BCS bound in 2012 :(
Behind that OLine! If he stayed he would have had multiple concussions and would have never seen an NFL field. Getting benched and transferring; someone was watching out for him.
Who was the OL coach/recruiter?I have a lot of sympathy for Savage. He was getting hammered behind that line. When given time, he was very effective and has a NFL arm. But that was not happening for him here and we needed someone more mobile to overcome those deficiencies. I'm still a huge GS fan but he shares the blame in this situation as the head coach for poor OL recruiting/development during that period.
I don't care how TS acted. He was brought in to take this program over the hump WITH A WEST COAST OFFENSE HE WAS BUILT TO RUN.
GS changed that with the wacky snap offense.

Savage wanted to transfer after the beatings, not being able to run the Spread and probably refused to listen to anything or anyone - like a typical 19ry old.
Yep. The girl he was seeing followed him out to Arizona, then I believe came back to NJ.Different girl. He met his wife at ArizonaHe married her last June. His wedding was actually in New Jersey down the shore in Wildwood Crest.
Wrong, wrong and wrong.I don't care how TS acted. He was brought in to take this program over the hump WITH A WEST COAST OFFENSE HE WAS BUILT TO RUN. GS changed that with the wacky snap offense. Exactly. That is not the reason why he transferred
Damnit, I was just about to post that!!! It never gets old.
There's no need for that kind of talk on this one. He was a bit immature but has grown up a lot, so I don't see the need to rub the guy's face in it. And Schiano is to blame as well, he bungled the situation in his stubborn manner.Savage was a baby that made bad decisions. He apologized to schiano .
No, actually he didn't: this was primarily on TS and those advising him.And Schiano is to blame as well, he bungled the situation in his stubborn manner.

Then let's hear it. Why did he leave?Yep. The girl he was seeing followed him out to Arizona, then I believe came back to NJ.
Wrong, wrong and wrong.
Exactly.
Since that game, UConn football is 26-42 for a winning percentage of 38%.And WHAT has happened to UConn football since then?
You are wrong. I was there. Schiano did not mess up anything. The kids Father was involved and his girl. He admitted he made a mistake and learned from it. No need to revise it I. Your head. There's no need for that kind of talk on this one. He was a bit immature but has grown up a lot, so I don't see the need to rub the guy's face in it. He wouldn't have been able to stay on the field until then with the OL he had to play behind. If he stayed I believe we would have been BCS bound in 2012 :(
