OT: Walking Dead (spoiler alert)

I a
Thought this was a boring episode. The weakest of the year.

So are the new bad guys Negan's guys?

I was convinced that the rocket launcher walker was going to wiggle off the fence while he was being taunted and the device would explode thus attracting the horde. Glad I was wrong... and we know that weapon will come in handy in the coming weeks.

I thought it was a good episode..... Daryl showed some heart, and look what it got him..... Did he respond to the girl at the end when she said "sorry", he said "you will be"?

Yes, his response was something like, "You're gonna be."

Yes - A fuel truck and RPGs might make them more than sorry they took his motorcycle and his crossbow......

It was nice to see Darryl get his own episode again. Interesting little plot twist, since I thought that they would have come back to Alexandria with him before causing some trouble. Starting to get a little pissed that they aren't furthering the Glenn story yet (hint, we'll keep watching every week ... you don't need to tease us as to holding that story off). And I'm curious that they're introducing this new group before the Wolves thing has really been delved into more. A three way battle could be interesting.

Here's a nice little diversionary topic: Give me your three most memorable moments from the series so far.

most memorable:

1> episode 1; Shane's monolog on why women can't turn off lights. Spot on. My daughter laughed at that one. "Wow Daddy. That's what you've been saying to Mom and us since I can remember."

2> memorable, but tragic. when you see Carol's zombified daughter come out of the barn at that farm.

3> The Deer Hunter like scene at Terminus where Rick and Co. were almost executed. Carol saved the day by cooking off the propane tank. Rick and Co. got some payback. Followed closely by the railcar breakout scene at Terminus.

Wasn't that Glen's voice calling for help at the end?

It could be Glenn's voice. I'll admit I haven't cheated with the spoilers much to make a good guess.

My top three would be:

1.) Carol's zombified daughter. I don't think anything will ever beat that for me.
2.) Beth dying.
3.) Darryl trying to climb back up the hill after falling off the horse (with the arrow in him and his "brother" taunting him).

#3 could be replaced with a few others, like the street gang defending that old folk's hospital. Michonne walking around with Terry and Mike (her two zombies). Carl shooting zombie Shane. Carl stuck in the mud. Morgan and his kid reacting to seeing his wife time and time again as a zombie.

But for the "OT" designation, I was sure this was another post about our Head Coach. ;)

Ha Ha! Before I got married and had daughters, I never realized that we men all carry the "light police" gene. That's what I'm called around my house. What's with these females??

A couple questions guys:

1. Have any of you checked out the Fear The Walking Dead: Flight 462 series online? I think I liked those better than I did the first season of the show.

2. Wasn't it in season 1 of TWD, at the CDC, where we found out that you can't be infected by a walker bite... that everybody carries the virus inside them? Then, why do we still see people chopping off limbs in an effort to stop the infection after getting bit? Herschel, Tyreese, the guy in the woods this week...

Three memorable moments in the series for me. Hmmmm...

  • Beth's death. After not liking her early on, I was really starting to like her.
  • Rick offing Shane (finally got rid of that pain in the ass) and the shot of the army of walkers behind Rick and Carl as they walked back, towards the house
  • Alexandria Cookie Monster Scene: When Carol gets real and threatens the kid with bodily harm if he tells what he saw

Probably to stop infections/blood loss. And while everybody carries the virus, you have no clue what other types of viruses and bacteria these guys have on them.

The way I understand it is if you are bitten you turn quickly, even if you are still alive. If you die of other causes, you turn after death due to the virus in your body. Does not make sense that there is a difference, but hey it's not real.

I apologize if I ruined anyone's day by saying zombies are not real. At least I left professional wrestling alone.

LOL. I think it has to do more with who pays the electric bill.

Three memorable scenes, for better or worse:
1) Hersel getting his head lopped off (and not efficiently either) by the Governor with his daughters watching. That whole attack of the prison was insane.
2) The CDC reveal and the sense of doom when it was disclosed that that everyone has it. There is no cure and no end to this nightmare.
3) The escape from Terminus - Carol saving the day... the bleed bin the guys were at - I am still scarred from watching that.

HM - The Governor's fish tanks with Zombie heads; Dale's death at the farm; Carl killing his mom after Judith was born;

Because the bite causes an incurable infection. Not sure if it is a different virus or some combo of TWD virus and regular bacteria that makes it so bad.

Also, wouldn't peoples lawns be pretty high by now? Don't see people out there with lawnmowers (wasting gas).....

Goats and horses run wild. You just don't see them in the shots.

(OK, I just made that up.)

Saw that one horse running wild - it didn't do too well.... And that other horse Rick rode into the city on - also not a happy ending.....

It looks like all of this seasons episodes covered the same time-span. I think they are all caught up now.. so the way is clear to..

- show us what happened to Glenn
- what's next for the Wolves.. wth are they anyway?
- what this new group is.. the ambushers who kneel
- the coming orgy in town as there are romantic plot lines all over the map

Whoops. Wrong thread. Thought this was about the Rutgers football team.

:grimace:
