Overrated?

Way to soon to tell what we will be, would be worried if we were playing lights out at this point. Obviously defense is a big opportunity if Pike gets them to embrace and execute his defensive concepts we could be very good, we are very athletic so the opportunity to be a good defensive team is there just need to do the work

*shrug* Okay. I have no idea, I don't really follow the NBA. But it's not Rutgers homer stuff, these projections are being made by people who have nothing to do with Rutgers.
You are an odds guy. One or more of #4-10 pre-season ranked freshmen and/or anyone sophomore or older is likely to displace 1 of the top three based on performance or team need. Am not including foreign players, bc they weren’t in the claim above.

Meh, I agree that is probably true that "the field" is more likely than exactly those three going 1-2-3. But they are probably the most likely specific combo.

I think there is a lot of things that need to be reminded here

1.) with the portal and many new teams with lots of new faces , there is more parity than ever …

2.) and you don’t think the last point is true, take a good hard look at the scores around the country …and how things change from game to game

-examples …Notre dame loses to Elon
-examples …Nebraska beats Creighton
-examples …preseason top 10 Arizona gets hammered by Wisconsin and duke
-examples…that same Wisconsin twam, needs to hold on for dear life to best Unicersity Texas rio grande valley this week
-examples …seton hall loses to forfham and Hofstra

I could go on and on and on

Im glad we are 4-0 and won all four by double digits

And in the same breathe , it’s clear to say we are a work in progress and will have sone serious ups and downs in the process that as a fan, until you see a trend either in the negative or in the positive , you should not get too high after a great win or too low after a head scratching loss

Having said ALL of that …every game counts on the resume ….and we need not to sxrew
Up on Sunday and get a win ….and it would be good for the psyche to get a win against Notre damw so we are playing with house money against alabama and the game on Saturday .

Get me to 6-2 on the flight home …and let’s get in the gym, work that defense and the timing on the rotation , and let’s enter the first of the year 1-1 and 10-3

One at a time for sure ….and certainly that’s thinking waaaaaaay too far
Ahead ….enjoy the process …because I still really think we can put this together in the sexond half of February and scream
Into March and make a real run .

Dylan Harper is exceeding my expectations as a college basketball player. With a really small knowledge of what it takes in the NBA i am going to guess his NBA draft stock falls.
Dylan was always going to be an unbelievable college player. His maturity and feel for the game translate to instant success

My take was Dylan was more of a lock to be an excellent college player. Ace higher NBA ceiling. Dylan's game is just much more polished while Ace's ceiling is astronomical

This appears spot on so far
Good post and link.

I have thought the Jalen Brunson comp is one of the best comps. Very similar styles, both lefties, both use body control and strength to get to midrange and rim shots more than explosive quickness or athleticism... Harper is 4" taller with a huge wingspan. Jalen came into the NBA with 3 years of college polish.
