Pacheco NFL Firsts

Thanks for bringing up Dino, I thought he played for them but couldn't remember. We have a nice little history going there.
I believe it was 1980, during the NYY-KC baseball playoffs, Dino pissed off a good part of Greater KC by showing up to the stadium wearing a Yankee cap.

Don’t get the hate especially with Pacheco on the team. Since the Giants are not sniffing the SB anytime soon I love watching the Chiefs. Love seeing great teams and athletes achieve great things
It isn’t hard to figure out. The hate mostly started with the Taylor Swift story appearing to give the NFL a bunch of new fans who care about one team not the league , media giving that angle too much airtime, along with the coincidence of the Chiefs being the first team in 30 years to go eleven straight playoff games with fewer penalty yards than their opponent.

it seems to me the people who are getting so angry about Taylor Swift appearing on their TV for 5 seconds have deeper issues. The league is always trying to draw in more fans so showing her is satisfying the TS crowd who is tuning in to see her.
Some teams are more disciplined and have fewer penalties, this theory that the league is intentionally not calling penalties on them is another conspiracy theory.

Some people enjoy watching greatness. I always cheered for the Patriots (except when they were playing the Giants) same goes for Tiger Woods, i wanted to see him win every major he played in.

Yup. More fan psychology than anything else - people become jealous of success or they get sick of it. I'll admit, I was sick of the Patriots getting to the SB all the time. For some reason, I'm indifferent to the Chiefs doing it.

With the exception of the Patriots, I enjoy seeing dynasties, seeing how far they can go. The first was the Green Bay Packers who lit up the 60 including the first two. Kansas City won't be the first team to win three NFL Titles as Green did that in the mid 60s.
Then came the Oakland A's, 3 in a row. The 90s had two great dynasties in the NFL, Cowboys and 49ers. Loved all those years!
You forgot the Chicago Bulls (twice) and the Lakers once.

The Taylor Swift story isn’t a big deal except that it gave fans who are inclined to not want the same team winning all of the time a reason to start disliking the Chiefs.

Until then, they had managed to do a lot of winning without their QB and/or coach getting themselves into the villain role, which is uncommon.

It wasn't the 5 seconds a few times in the playoff games. It was the 5 seconds 20 times during the regular season games. Was I watching a football game or the Taylor Swift Show? More irritated than angry.

Damn...it doesn't take much to irritate you.
Personally, I find the endless commercials irritating...especially those stupid Burger King ones.

Why would it be irritating?

Did Caitlin Clark irritate people? Matthew McConaughey? Snoop Dog? Jack Nicholson? Celebrities have been shown at sporting events for a long time.

This was a lot longer than 5 seconds.....

Yes it didn't happen for me. My post was about my favorite dynasties not yours or anyone else. Those teams meant nothing to me. The one I did forget was the Islanders
I tend to forget that one too, but they were pretty incredible. What did they win four cups during that era? So many great players too, but I loved it when the Rangers upset them in 1979.

Hockey was my latest fandom of all my sports. Jumping on board in the mid 70s. Then strengthened with the Olympics Miracle on Ice.

Ken Morrow on the Isles from the US Team and I believe Dave Silk and Mark Pavelich on the Rangers. A bigger hockey fan can jump in and correct me as I'm going off middle-age memory.

Gold Medal to FOUR Stanley Cups in a row.

I was living in Boston at the time so you can only imagine the city following the BU Four. That next summer having a pizza at a local spot near BU when Jim Craig walked in with a friend. People left him alone, but everyone recognized him. Seemed like a nice guy.

You mean when Caitlin Clark was playing? And none of those others got as much and many times as Swift did during the regular season with the possible exception of Nicholson, who I found irritating. Maybe Spike Lee with the Knicks, who I could have done without.

If those tiny little things bother you, you must live a miserable life with all the really important things.

I could've done without Spike causing Reggie Miller to go off against us.

Glad you brought up Lee. He and Jack probably had the biggest hand in the birth of celeb airtime.

No, she was in a box with the infamouse Chief's fan and perhaps the most popular performer in the world, Swiftie.

If that's irritating rather than getting a chance to watch the XP team trot on to the field I don't know what to say other than to each his own.

I love the way you just wave off the referee calls. That is the only reason why I hate the Chiefs right now. But you dismiss it saying I am "hiding behind it".. that is some first-class nonsense.

How about you stop hiding behind the idea that people hate their success and tell us the real reason you reject the argument about the refs?

Agree.
I've been lucky in choosing my teams when they weren't dynasties but becoming one. Yankees, I first started following them in '66. Later that year the Dallas Cowboys. And then finally the NJ Devils. My only team I bought season tickets for besides Rutgers. Year 1, I started with a 10 game plan but went full plan after attending just 2 games in their first year after leaving Colorado.
Lots of great sports seasons in my life time.
oh yeah.. no front-runner-fan you... you chose your teams juts prior to their becoming good and did not choose teams that were mired in mediocrity or outright sucking for extended periods... you are sooo "lucky".

Because ref bitching is bullshit.

Facebook has been full of the 4th down call against Buffalo.
I have to admit that the more I see it the more it looks like Buffalo got the shaft.
Not that I think it was intentional.
Personally I dont know how they get as many calls right as they do - hard job.
With all the many cameras in a game - and along with gambling - the temperature is going to rise faster than in the past

Last year Pops had the distinction of being the first NFL player to make it to the Super Bowl in his first two seasons in the league. He’s now extended that to three. Can he make it three championships in his first three years?

What a career!
I must be missing something but others have done this too.
