A co-worker of mine donates money to RU every year, but has never bought season tickets. He gave $500 last week and asked me where he would get parking if he got 4 season tickets next year. Does it change every year? Is there a ballpark number yet to get in Purple or better or next season? He has zero priority points besides that donation.

BTW, the website has blue parking, but it says that is just an estimate. Did anyone get in there with only $500?

It also takes priority points to get into the closer lots. Historical giving is only 1 point for every grand, the $500 would only be 5 points. It takes 20 this season to get into the silver.

Johnson Park ($35/game without any donation) is better than 80 % of the 'Color' designated lots.

The lots have a minimum donation requirement & are assigned based on PPs. Last year's PP cutoffs were: Blue 44, Purple 34, Black 26 & silver 20. He's going to have to donate more than $500 to get in those lots. Here are the links to PPs & parking info:

Oh I see now, it's not just the $500, but also how many PP he has. He may get some from consecutive years of giving and lifetime giving. I think he said he has been giving 300-500 for a while now. Getting up to 34 for Purple may be tough, though. Thanks, all.

He is best waiting to see what the Parking level criteria is next year. If Elmer Fudd comes back Donations will drop dramatically and I think the PP levels will be revised downward .

Note that only donations to Rutgers Athletics earn priority points. Donations to other areas of Rutgers University do not earn priority points*. So if your friend gave $500 last week to Athletics, he would earn 5 priority points on the donation. If he gave $500 last week to a non-athletic fund, he would not earn priority points for the current year gift.

*The lifetime donation calculation includes athletic and non-athletic donations to the Rutgers University Fund. So if your friend donated $500 for 5 years to a non-athletic fund, he would still receive 2.5 priority points in recognition of the $2500 lifetime giving amount.

Yet another reason why we only have money to be a small time program. We want the best of everything but let someone other than me to pay for it. RUTGERS Fans= small time.

The only thing small time is your thinking. A better service is available cheaper and yet you think we should donate way more money to get an inferior service? I'm seriously confused....

I hope your friend won't let the RU parking situation be a deal breaker. There's plenty to $20 parking on Riverview Ave.
