Little patience, mm yeah, mm yeah
Need a little patience, yeah
Just a little patience, yeah
Some more patience, yeah (I've been walking the streets at night, just trying to get it right)
A little patience, yeah (Its hard to see with so many around
You know I don't like being stuck in the crowd)
Could use some patience, yeah (And the streets don't change but maybe the names)

Patience?? This is the most patient fan base in the world! 150 years and not one championship of any kind and we still fill the stadium. Which is why Rutgers will never win one. Too many people are happy with mediocrity and continue to applaud the status quo. There is no desire to improve or an appetite for honest criticism.

I think you know that we see things differently. I agree it's been 150 years with no championships. I don't think it is that people are "happy" with mediocrity, but they accept where we are at and understanding what the current administration will do under the current fiscal situation. We are where we are. Would we love to have a more dynamic recruiter bringing in a large percentage of top 20 recruits? I don't think you will find any fans that will answer that question no. But Flood is here for the short to medium term. So we can accept his positive attributes, but I don't see any value in continually pissing and moaning every time a recruit does not sneeze our way. You can call it excuses or complacency, but Flood was a new coach dealing with a lot of crap his first two years that has been rehashed here. Some folks act like we have been in the B1G forever. We have been B1G for one year!!! Maybe we showed the 2016 and beyond classes that we can compete and we are worthy of their commitment. So, you will ask what happened in 2015? I think recruits are taking a wait and see approach. And let's not forget that Franklin, Meyer and Harbaugh have declared that NJ is one of their target states. Greg never had to deal with that level of recruiting competition.

I remain optimistic. If this year goes badly on the field and in recruiting, I'll be up for a change as much as you. But until then, some of y'all are just pissing in the wind. Doesn't do anyone any good.

Patience like once we get into the B1G our recruiting will be unbelievable. Can't count how many times I heard that one. Anyway as long as we have free speech and as long as we can't score top 20 in state talent I'll continue to bitch. And with this upcoming season I'll say brace yourselves.

Schiano did a better job with less then flood on the recruiting track. Not sure why people give flood such a pass.

Fill the stadium ?
That's not really something that's happened very often in Rutgers' long, long history.
I'd be real interested in seeing a poll as to how many New Jersey residents give a crap about Rutgers football.
I think you'd be surprised at how small that number is.

I'm only one data point but it took me leaving South Jersey to go to Penn State and RU joining the B1G to care about them. My brother still lives in NJ and I know he doesn't care but to be fair he's a PSU alum and doesn't care about PSU either.

Well I for one do not comment on each and every recruit that gets away. My point is recruiting as a whole. There is always a reason some kid selects another school but the bigger picture is Rutgers isn't getting ANY of them. The announcement for going to the Big Ten was Nov of 2012. So it is three recruiting classes that knew where they would be playing. Still not forever but more than one year.

My bigger beef on here isn't those like you. You seem to accept honest criticism or try to spin it another way, There are plenty on here that jump on those with any sense of realistic criticism. And those people are happy with 8-5 seasons and 2 and 3 * recruits. They defend what Rutgers Football is even if it is stagnant. They declare proudly that RU had an 8-5 record "in the Big Ten"

I'm more like you than you think. I go along year after year, 30+ years now hopping for the best every year. Some years I'm thrilled some not. When it doesn't go well I should have the ability to discuss my displeasure without being bashed by the Pollyannas on here. There are way too many people happy with the status quo.

I can see your points, WhiteBus. My patience post was mostly serious, but partly in jest. I would love us to clean up in recruiting and be a perennial winner, knocking off MSU and tOSU. But I don't want a Meyer or a Franklin, and we all know that Rutgers will not spend that kind of money right now anyway. So, back to my original point--I don't see the point in crying about every one that got away. I think that there are fewer people happy with the status quo than you think. For me, RU football is a small aspect of my life, and perhaps I have been conditioned to not expect big things after being a Mets fan my entire life.

I get it. You are calling for a Fan Boycott of the games.

Please don't think that I am picking on you but I am curious as to which foot you have been hopping on for those 30 years? Have you considered switching feet. The south west Indian tribes sometime get rain that way but it has to be on the correct foot.

Fixed it for you :)

Maybe I should give it a try!! Something has to work.
