They should not have been bowl eligible if the NCAA had any backbone.
It's ridiculous when you think about it, they WON the Big Ten and beat OSU, and still got passed over by them. It is a bad system. The whole "committee" that picks the "four best teams" is complete garbage - it's just like the BCS championship. And there are people on that committee that have no business being there. I know you want to eliminate possible bias but people have to know what they're doing.
Oh for goodness sakes, get real. USC is highly overrated. Bama beat them 52-6. They started 0-3. USC lucked into a Rose Bowl appearance.

Given that Ohio State could not score a damn point versus Clemson, and Washington barely did versus Bama, I would say too that Pedophile State should have been in the top 4. And Western Michigan needs to step back in to obscurity. There is no way that they should have been at the Cotton Bowl except as visitors.
Western Michigan lost by less points to #8 Wisconsin in their bowl than Arkansas did to VaTech, after getting spotted 24 points.
Either Alabama or Clemson would have hammered Penn State by at least 4 TDs. USC isn't in either Alabama or Clemson's league.
The season counts. OSU was hottest team at end of 2015 but they lost to MSU so they sat out. This year Penn St lost to Pitt and got crushed (crushed) by Michigan. You cant make CFB playoffs like that (even if you do beat a now recognized mediocre OSU).
I said it would have been much better for PSU to have made playoffs and get pasted by Alabama then go home with a Rose Bowl trophy and got laughed at on here....wonder what those guys think now
OK. Still does nothing to undo the crimes and the pain of the victims under the watch of your coaches, including Joe Pa. Some programs would have taken their punishment and not denied the events, instead of putting football first. But go on with yourselves. Crimes and cover ups before honor.

Penn state lost to pitt, beat osu by a miracle and got crushed by michigan but they could've beaten Clemson? Doubtful.
I can't stand Penn St. But, to be fair, they deserved to be in the final four. They beat tOSU, ranked #2 btw, on October 22 (not some early September game) - part of winning their last 9 in a row, won their division, then won the B1G Championship game.
It is not hard to imagine what this board would be like if it were RU in that passed over position...

Way wrong. Just completely wrong. A 2-loss team should never get in over a 1-loss team with much better wins and no bad losses. Even if they were the one to beat that team.
The 2nd best team in the country doesn't give up 33 1st downs.
