Phil the Shill wrote another negative column about RU and Phil the Thrill. I believe this is complete yellow journalism but maybe someone more in the know could comment further.
I knew Phil Sellers but not that well. Phil always came off as a smart guy. He actually kind of reminded me a lot of Reggie Jackson. The column blasted RU because Phil left Rutgers without an education and couldn’t hold a job because of it. My understanding is that Phil never graduated Rutgers but was far from uneducated. Yes, Phil probably took advantage of his stardom and probably didn’t focus on his education. From everything I heard, he tried to always live off his press clippings and laziness may have been the culprit for his money troubles, but looking for others for insight.
