In remember the Titans, the assistant coach told his defense, I don’t want them to gain one inch, not one...or I’ll bench every one of you so help me God.

In a little different words, he basically said the same thing if 22 got another uncontested shot after making 5 straight 3s

He made 1 the rest of the game, including the entire 2nd half

Three point shots are the difference makers in games along with foul shots. In a nail biter type game with offensive spurts by both teams every possession is critical.Stopping number 22 was a key to the Rutgers win.

And how Pike let his players know that was entertaining from 6 feet away.

Can you elaborate, please, for those of us who didn’t have the luxury of hearing it firsthand?

Or is it better left unsaid?

Does such instruction give you another level of respect for Pike?

Begged for that 3rd foul in the game thread, and it came even quicker than I hoped. Thought that was critical to pulling off a W.

I was contemplating paraphrasing what Pike said to the men, but I’m thinking it’s a betrayal of trust.

Read Baker’s thoughts about Coach Pike calling them soft at halftime, and add a couple expletives.

wow. I love Pike. Even when a kid does something dumb, like an alley pop pass 6 feet too high, he still is positive and encouraging. Glad to hear he gives them shit at times. Kids respect that. They dont respect a constant screamer.
