Player of game vs Purdue: your pick

Woolfolk makes the most of his minutes subbing for Cliff's early fouls.

I would love to see PM look to score more...he has all the ability but gets tentative looking for the past first. Take it to the basket
I think Cliff is going to have a big game. Edey is good and athletic but I think Cliff will get around him easy

Caleb Has an even better line then his against Coppin State. At least 7 steals and 18 points

Cam Spencer…….as long as he plays like he did in the first half against Coppin State
Every once in a while a blind squirrel finds a nut, now don’t ask me for the lottery numbers. I watched Cam in Practice Friday and I knew he would be lights out!

My pick is Paul to turn in 15–7-7 numbers.

BTW- I like this team better than the past 2…
And I loved those 2 teams.

Without making what ifs- this is actually a 11-3 3-0 team and around a 20-22 ranking.
That OSU game sucks.

Bingo. Unbelievable stat line for Paul tonight and huge in crunch time. Mulcahy 16 points (7-13, 1-1 from 3), 8 boards, 6 assists, 4 steals and no TOs. Cam A close runner up with the clutch 3 and a great shooting night - 6 for 8.

Paul by far with a big assist from Cam.
Paul took charge ; put the team on its back just like he did vs Northwestern last year on road

And what cajones by Cam! What a pickup by Pike.

Paul and Cam were great but everyone contributed. They are roommates so I think it is fitting to have both ar co game MVP"s.

Agree, but Cam hitting that shot, is what I so hoped for when we got him in the transfer portal. He is our our equalizer in games like this.

Took the game over down the stretch. Was in the middle of everything.
but doesn't that ask the question about where he was earlier? I guess things were going very well vs number 1.. so maybe he was just quietly doing the right things then too.

I ask myself why we seem to be a better team having lost Geo and Harper.. my working theory answer is that there was more one-on-some plays on offense because everyone looked to them to score and passed the ball around until they had to do something with it. And also that both those players.. as good as they were and as responsible as they were for increased positive exposure (and thus recruiting) for Rutgers basketball.. when they "disappeared" in the game we did poorly.

We do see one-on-some this year too.. in stretches where we do poorly.. as Purdue came back we saw it.. it was a pandemic in the SHU game. I wish the players would notice it and, instead of "catching teh disease" once someone starts it.. that they put an immediate stop to it and run an actual play on the next possession. Paul could and should do that.

Cliff was really really solid tonight. Got Edey in early foul trouble which allowed us to build a cushion in the first half.
Cliff set the tone early. Cam hit the winner but Pike said at the end that Paul is our leader.

The key to this team is they play for each other. Sure we did that the last 3 years too. I watched RHJ try to get others involved all year long. Geo passed the torch to Ron many times the last two years. Ron and Geo both encouraged Paul when he went in his run last year and basically took a back seat to him on many possessions.

Pike coaches them to play as a team and it’s fun to watch.

Paul got it done for the majority of the game. He seems to have matured from last year where he went into hero ball tailspins.
