My gut is Gary by the end of this week...if we are actually going to spend money we better not get Golden or Cristobal for it.

I may have read this wrong, but my take was that it will be somebody really good but who none of us were thinking about. On a re-read, I might have been mistaken. vkj, can you clarify?
Well Mack Brown is one we've heard of but not sure anyone here would ever think of him. I've read that he'd be interested in UVA.
Rich Rod is still out there but he's been brought up before too.

I would say Scott Frost but I think he's off the list now.
After all the hype about GS and Mario over the few days I think they are not an option. If they were really an option they'd be hired already. The names leaked today, Richt, Kelly, ect, were to drum up more hype to make this job seem appealing. At this point I'm thinking we'd be lucky to get Fleck. If we don't do better than cristobal then I don't want to ever hear about him again. GS can go and be gone too. They both played us and should be exposed for it.
I don't understand why anyone would think this. The smart move is to see who is available and talk to people -- even those that RU may have little chance at. Why in the world would Rutgers pick 1 or 2 guys and hire them within 48 hours?
If Mullen doesn't get the Miami job I think he's ours. Schiano wants no part of us, he either gets the Miami(I think he will) or he's off to Virginia. I hope it's the Miami job for him he will recruit Miami and not have much of a need to come here. If we hire Mullen he will be able to fend Schiano off up here in most cases.
Because there is no way Hobbs has been out of work on sabbatical and jumps in and gets to work so fast without having first been working behind-the-scenes figuring out who our next coach would be. This wasn't a 48 hour development. That's not how things work. Remember the first rumors of Rutgers getting a new coach like 2-3 weeks ago there was buzz about Mario and Greg. IMO we've been exploring out options of potential candidates for at least a month.
Remember that's what happened last time then in the end the best option was keeping Flood. I just have the gut feeling that we are having the rug pulled out from under us.
In the end I'll summarize...I've been a Rutgers fan for too long.
The guy at Bowling a Green would be a winner IMO. Up and coming star coach. Good head on his shoulders. Seems mature. Good offensive mind.
But I cannot remember his name!
