Portal Pick-up Priorities

Xmas wish list.
Hopefully we get 2 wr that attack the ball, taller than 6'1'' preferably.
TE catching threat.
2 Senior or Grad Transfer OL (Tackle+G/T).
I think on defensive side we are ok.

**Also does Nunz keep the OC title?
Most mportant is that the OL take 2 steps forward from this year.

QB (portal transfer) , ( 2 ) WR, (1 ) DT, ( 1 ) TE, (1) RB , ( 2) DB. Never enough DT linemen . Never enough DB which might be the most injured position on a football team in D1 during a season.

You don’t have enough RB’s even with Brown , Monangai, A. Young, ( Salaam , Rochelle both are slot backs) unless there some hidden gems I’m forgetting. Parker Day is another kid I love on specials , slotback. We need another Big power type back .

Qb because Wimsatt my be the future but he is not ready. He clearly needs year with no pressure to run the scout team and just work on fundamentals. The rush to get him in has clearly been a failure. He not a true freshmen and clearly has accuracy and decision making issues. A 43% completion percentage and 6 ints in only 69 attempts or 8 ints in 90 attempts is signs that he in over his head. He got the physical tools but not ready.

Syracuse's Gadsen looks fantastic. On a team with more targets, he'd be amazing.. perhaps. Then again, he plays in the ACC. I wonder if some big NIL budget school is gonna nab him.

Yeah- most of those transfers are the current starters

We are not in a position to pick and choose. We are not adept at pushing folks out the door, either. Find talented players. Do whatever we can to get them on-board. Dismiss the idea that there needs to be some kind of geographic connection to NJ.

Need to hit Portal again and have OL Sutton back from injury and 4 star Allen step in.

I disagree. I don’t think that judgement can be made considering he has started all of 2 games. He is raw but he is by far the most talented QB on the roster. By playing he will learn and develop. I disagree. I don’t think that judgement can be made considering he has started all of 2 games. He is raw but he is by far the most talented QB on the roster. By playing he will learn and develop. These last 3 games aren’t so much about this year, they need to develop Wimsatt so he is ready to start the 1st game next year as a legitimate starting QB in the B1G. He has the tools to be that. Next year is a big year for this staff to show real improvement.

Ask yourself why that is?

He looks pretty good right now IMO.

Gleeson’s offense was too complicated. Nunzio has simplified things and Gavin is learning on the go.

He played well today, 2 TDs , no turnovers . Some really nice throws. Ran the offense well. Too many penalties , they are playing a lot of young players. The OL is holding (literally) them back.

Sutton missed 2 years at this point. I don’t know that we can count on him being back. We invested a ton in OL last year.

We need LBs, WR and another RB with some size.
