Portal Watch - Who Has Rutgers contacted

Unless, you know, the coaches have seen you play and think you are good. Then these black and white, this or that, rules mean nothing.

Having that many schools contact you at once must make your head spin.

Imagine talking two 20 recruiters for Job interviews in a few days time.

I’m guessing most of these schools/coaches are quickly forgotten/blend together.
Probably not that hard if you’re off

6'5" SG......seems like a long shot, but he is from the Bronx......i have edited this thread, because i posted he was at a Lincoln HS in Brooklyn and that apparently was not correct (i think he has a profile somewhere showing that) he was originally a 3* recruit. Elite player IMO

Is there any prior connection to Bamba—did RU recruit him out of HS…and is he looking to get closer to home…

I think that might be the wrong Abraham Lincoln HS... T J Bamba played his first 2 years at Kipp HS in the Bronx, and then transferred to Abraham Lincoln HS in Denver, Colorado for the remainder of his HS basketball career..

Washington State was his only Power 6 conference offer, most likely because he signed with Washington State prior to his senior year when his stats significantly improved. He moved to Denver with his mother and aunt for basketball purposes... As a junior at Lincoln HS in Denver, he averaged 13.5ppg, 5.1 reb, 2.5 AST. As a senior after he'd already signed his NLI, his stats improved to 23ppg and 10 rebounds.

Dad is Senegalese and TJ spent several years in Senegal as a young boy, away from his family, in order to learn the culture and the Muslim religion better. Assuming Baye Ndongo signs, RU will have a Senegalese player on the roster. Probably wouldn't be an influence, but you never know. I wonder if there's a chance that they know each other, since both played in the Denver area for a while, although Baye is a few years younger...

Three times a charm?
Massoud's minutes were cut significantly this season, from 24.3 last season with 18 starts to 15.3 minutes per game this season with no starts, and his 5.4 PPG was his lowest since his freshman year at Wake.... He might be looking to go somewhere where he'll get more playing time in his final season.. Could he get that here?

And as Scangg mentioned, he shot better (and much more often) from 3 than from 2 this season (38-91 from 3, and 17-50 from 2), but his other stats for the season weren't necessarily impressive, with the exception of 26-29 FT (89.7%). I don't know how he'd be used at RU, but I'm not sure he'd want to go somewhere where he might be used the same way (and the same amount) as KSU used him this season....

Massoud shot a better percentage from 3 than 2 last year. Legit sniper. Doesn't seem to do much else though statistically but he's a real threat of a floor spacer
Doesn't rebound, pass or block shots, but also doen't turn the ball over. Fouls a lot per minutes played.
That 34% 2 point percentage? wow! Worse than Hyatt.
