Sure, SHU player, but he is Jersey bred, and is an outstanding talent. I want to see him ball every time he is on the floor.

Concussions are no joke, and I wish it never had to happen. I am sure he returns strong.

Good game by RU. Loved it. Still, let's keep Powell in our thoughts.

Just a kid from Trenton! When Powell makes, the Garden shakes.

Pray for a fast recovery. I do wish splinters on some RU transfers though.

Wonder if people would be so prayerful if we got blown out like they did

Wow....I guess if you are an atheist, prayers wouldn’t be involved whether we won or lost....I on the other hand will pray for a fast recovery and not wish any harm on any athlete whether we win or lose, but that’s just part of my morals and my religious beliefs.

Didn’t say I wished harm on him or anyone else. My point was it’s easy to be nice towards the other team when you win. If we lost no one is posting about how they hope the kid recovers

Dont know that I agree. There's enough bball IQ on this forum that respects Powell as a player and understands being injured isn't cool and the impact to the hall team.

Hear hear. Love watching him play and it's always tough to see someone have to deal with a concussion.

My point is that it is easy to be nice whether we won or lost if it’s in your heart. If we would have lost I would still hope he would recover quickly as he is a fierce competitor.

What's the value in your post? Take the well wishes when they come, and let it go. Better yet, if you believe so strongly in what you're intimating, take the lead and post well wishes for the opposing team should something befall them during a victory over us.

Thoughtful post as usual, RaRa. Great to see you against the Rutgers Club!

I have to say ive never heard of a basketball player sustaining a concussion & NOT knowing where is in basketball(football yes)

Thats gotta be one unlucky bang to the head
and
has to be pretty darn serious.

I would be wishing him well no matter who won the game

Pre season first team All American says it all. A great player who deserves to be playing as soon as possible.

Not true.

Our recruit from Prolific Prep, Magwot, got a concussion a couple of weeks ago. Has not played in two weeks and lost three front teeth in the process. It happens because refs are reluctant to call thrown elbows. No foul called against offending player. Myles concussion was inflicted by one of his team mates who collided with the him. He had previously gotten a poke in the eye on an attempted block by one of our guards. Happens in hoops too unfortunately and usually in a rebounding position as the person with the ball is trying to keep others from grabbing it.

Wish him well. My feeling on your post is that if we had gotten blown out Powell would not have been hurt. Kind of think that they would need him healthy and in the whole game to blow us out so there would most likely be no need to wish him well.

I hope Myles recovers quickly and finishes his career on a high note.

Best of Luck,
Groz

did he die?

RIP

oops, my bad just missed two games

he's back

Based on the tone of your comment I would take an educated guess you obviously wouldn’t hope this kid was ok whether we won or lost. It’s a f’ing bb game - it’s the kids future health. Test for you what’s more important

Wrong. Just not something I care to think about. My whole point was that it’s easy to be nice when you win. Had we lost I doubt anyone would have created a post about the kid but maybe I’m wrong

Being nice and complimenting your opponent when you win is easy. Whether a team wins or loses should not be the deciding factor to be nice and concerned about another human being who suffered a major injury.
Take a look at how many people were covered about the young man. I believe they would have the same concerns regardless of outcome of game

Perhaps, but we’ll never know since we won
