Princeton Open

IMO just a matter of time before Sammy packs it in and Olivieri is our 141. Combo of some of what I am reading, the video, and what I am hearing from several close to the program. Which I am fine with. I’d rather have the guy who is wants to wrestle and be in there. It’s been going on too long now.

I feel like there is a lot of assumptions being thrown around about Sammy. Yes, the last two seasons ended very oddly, but give the kid a shot at a weight that is more of a natural fit. If he has issues at this weight then we'll know where he stands.

Goodale was vague as usual during his press conference. I think people are reading into it a little too much.

We've got a big week ahead. An upset over ASU would be fantastic.

If healthy I’d like to see Kanniard there. Think it’s more of his natural weight and he seemed to be cutting too much to 157. ONeill is what he is at this point.
Although neither O'Neil or Kanniard show much defense from the neutral position, Kanniard is is more athletic and active and he's better from neutral. If I remember correctly, he had some take downs against some good wrestlers in the past (Brayton Lee and Austin O'Conner). Maybe at 165, he'd have more success (?)

Kannaird has had flashes here and there, and his best season was at 165. Im hoping it’s not a similar situation to last year where Clark was the starting 165 because he was least likely to surrender bonus points. Oneill is probably harder to turn than Kannaird but if he wrestles like he did yesterday where he gets a leg and just clings until his opponent turns it into a takedown, we’re not going to win any big 10 matches at that weight.
