I'm not in any of those loops, but he's the guy Rutgers should be going after the hardest. I don't know if they can afford him (I'm skeptical of the "money won't be an issue claim"), but if they can, I think he's got the best chance of succeeding there.
You nailed it if he came here morons on this board will be calling for his head before his first season is over.I'm sure Mullen would listen. Maybe just to get himself another extension. But I don't see him taking it. If we pull off a miracle and come up with $5 mil a year to get him, that will put a ton of pressure on him to win right away. Fans will have unrealistic expectations based on his salary.
So let me get this straight. A Penn State person is saying Rutgers will talk to Mullen?
How the hell would he know this?
No, I believe he is an RU fan, I just don't believe his stories. He's supposedly a professor but the football players confide in him and now he knows that a coach st MissSt is willing to listen to RU?!? The b.s. Meter is in 100. But since he seems to annoy RU fans I'm not sure what his motive isImBadRu is a PSU fan.
He was born in Pennsylvania, grew up in New Hampshire, went to college on PA. I think his parents still live in NH. And I think his sister lives in Manhattan. It's why we have a shot.Does have some north eastern roots.
Coaching career (HC unless noted)
1994–1995 Wagner (WR)
1996–1997 Columbia (WR)
1998 Syracuse (GA)
1999–2000 Notre Dame (GA)
2001–2002 Bowling Green (QB)
2003–2004 Utah (QB)
2005–2008 Florida (OC/QB)
2009–present Mississippi State
Because he doesn't. The athletic department is not going to tell Joe Schmoe professor who is interviewing for jobs at RU or even PSU for that matter.
.
Well its plausible. Mullen is a Philly kid that worked at Wagner as a GA. I'm sure he'd love to move back near home close to his family.Huh? Leave Miss State for Rutgers?
Leave getting any kid you want, fully funded for Rutgers?
I've already lined up my fire mullen banner plane. You nailed it if he came here morons on this board will be calling for his head before his first season is over.
Probably because he insists on all his posts starting with PSU.......Why do people continue to insist on giving the OP a hard time? He's an RU fan who happens to work at State Penn, so what, doesn't mean he's lying to us and, in the past, has actually given us good info from time-to-time.
It sounds like he is unhappy there and it also sounds like Miss State fans are getting tired of his wondering eyes.... He has has to be our number 1 choice. Make it happen Hobbs!to RU about job. Nothing more at this point. Source in athletic department. Anyone hearing anything similar?

He still has strong connections to NH and gets good press in newspapers. A few years ago I ran into a bunch his buddies at the airport in Baltimore who were on their way back from one of his games. Said they went down a couple of times a season. It sure would be easier for family and buddies if he were coaching closer to home!He was born in Pennsylvania, grew up in New Hampshire, went to college on PA. I think his parents still live in NH.
