Haven't been to a game in a while and have really never tailgated. Three friends and I have tix and want to spend the day grilling and chilling. We don't have a parking pass, from what I understand. Suggestions? Can we just roll into Johnson Park anymore? Best time to get there? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

If you get to Johnson Park by 3-4 pm you should be good. Earlier the better obviously as the weather forecast looks good and Penn St will be bringing a LOT of fans.

If you get to Johnson at 3 or 4pm theres no way in hell you're getting in. Honestly, If you get there at noon nothing's promised. And if you do you will be subject to the new $45 fee, (im not sure if you knew about that already). I would suggest you go to the RAC.

What tailgate lot will be more lenient to louder music and general shenanigans (ex: drinking games and people getting loud & having fun). Not saying we will cause trouble, just don't want to be booted out. Should I go Johnson Park or the RAC Parking lot area?

The RAC, which Rutgers controls should be more lenient than Johnson Park which Middlesex County controls. For the Michigan game I had people try to go to the park at 3 PM and it was already filled. They lost a lot of time by not going directly to the RAC.

Do people actually tailgate at the RAC lot though? I have a large group (~30 ppl) for tailgating but we want to be in a fun environment (we plan on having music/speakers, drinks, etc). Would you still suggest the RAC or is Johnson park better?
