Having watched the majority of the B1G 10 / ACC Challenge and watching the teams throughout the OOC Schedule, below are my current Power Rankings:
1. Ohio State - are terrific in all 3 facets....offense; defense and coaching. Holtmann is phenomenal and total beatdown of UNC today.
2. Maryland - Won Orlando Tourney and soundly have defeated Temple; Notre Dame; Marquette etc.
3.Michigan - may have best resume of all teams in B1G 10 but lack of depth and lack of coaching experience doesn't jolt them above teams above. Didn't like how they looked vs Louisville granted they may have been tired and were playing #1 team in country.
4. Michigan State - haven't been impressive to date though win at Seton Hall was big.
5. Purdue - damn good team reinforced by beatdown of Virginia. Other losses have been close to respected teams.
6. Penn State - another damn good team despite terrible loss to Ole Miss.
7. Indiana - could be sleeper team and has significant upside. Defeated Fla State and tough games approaching vs UConn at Jimmy V.
8. Iowa - have had injuries to Frederick; McCaffrey (younger brother) and Njuge but they can beat you on any given night.
9. Illinois - another squad with tons of upside. Bad loss to Miami on Monday.
10. Minnesota - big win vs Clemson on Monday
11. Rutgers - no impressive win to date but we're better than bottom 3 below.
12. Wisconsin - can;t shoot; no inside game. Gard not recruiting well. Could be on hot seat soon. We must defeat them next week.
13.Northwestern - have had some awful losses. May be #12
14. Nebraska - awful. Hoiberg has huge rebuild job ahead of him.
As bearish I was on conference several weeks ago, I am no longer. From 1-9, really really tough with 3 top 10 teams in 1-3 above.
