When you look at OSU's current verbals, you see a slew of 4 and 5 star guys who have a ranking number following their names. They currently have just two who are not ranked and one is a kicker that just don't get ranked normally.
Last night we saw them putting in the second stringers who are damn good too.
We simply cannot hope to match up with teams like this realistically. Our commits are primarily 3 stars and not ranked. How many hidden gems can anyone find in a group of decent, but not great players?
It looks like they have set their situation at QB and I would be stunned if anyone else has much hope of beating them this year. They are simply that good.
I think our team kept playing as well as they could all game. I was happy to see Rettig get a chance to play and he did well. On to the next game.

I think anyone who as any allusions that we will hire anyone that will approach OSU recruiting levels, especially when we are getting paid by the league a fraction what OSU is being paid right now, is really kidding themselves. We need to take the Iowa or MSU route, get a bunch of decent players and turn them into great players by the time they are seniors.

Ohio State is definitely beatable. They kept it close in a few of their games. They just haven't played any good teams and their schedule is cake.

Except for the last 29 or so B1G games. It is just too bad we have to compete in a league with so many doormat teams.

I agree with the strategy but the coaching staff seems to be incapable of developing enough great players. There are playmakers at running back and wide receiver but all the rest of the positions there is mid level talent at best. The loss of Carroo,Lumpkin and two starting linebackers next season will leave Rutgers just spinning their wheels without adequate replacements.
