Definitely a good move. Maybe some day they will talk about the Greg Schiano coaching tree.

PJ flipped through his old contact list and came across:

Then Aretha chimed in:

PJ then remembered, it is not sink the boat, it is ROW the boat.
Disaster and flood damage averted.
Rob Smith used to be a hero on this board, goes with Fleck and now he's a dog, I wish we had him here, it would be a 100% upgrade

Knight Shift, we seem to be on the same page for so many things but I have to tell you it is beyond annoying that you continue to bash what's his name when so many people keep telling you guys to give it a rest. How about you make like Aretha and Think before you post anything else about what's his name. You are making yourself look bad while also taking cheap shots at the team and program you claim to love. What's the point?

Losers point fingers and lay blame for the past.
Winners move ahead.

Sorry, but that's just a little too Pollyanna-ish for even my tastes. That may have been my second or third direct shot at old what's his name. Who are the so many people telling "you guys" to give it a rest? Seems to be just YOU.

And sorry, but I am not taking cheap shots at the team and the program by making a small joke about how PJ Fleck would never in a million years consider hiring old what's his name as a position case. I stood by him and endured all of the Floodie taunts until nearly the end. You seem to want to defend him, but the fact of the matter is that he was in way over his head and he did set the program back with his poor recruiting and lax management of several aspects of the program.

I stand by the program and the current staff 150%. I see nothing wrong with looking back at our past failures so that we hopefully do not repeat the same mistake twice. And I see nothing wrong with a little light-hearted humor. I hope this does not irreparably harm our solid relationship and we can still agree on other things. I just have one question for you?

Why? So the next time we come up against a QB with a bum leg who lost all his mobility he won't blitz. Or when his 5'10" backup comes into the game he'll let him get good and comfortable back there by not blitzing. That was a brilliant strategy and worked out well.

whats the deal with Smith? When he was here, our d was very good. Was he a product of the talent? Why did he fail at arkansas?

We gave up more yards to the run than any other team in football. Either he was not a good recruiter or poor at developing talent, or both.

Serious question. Bret Bielema stays or Kyle Flood on a one year deal. No other choices. Who do you take, and why?

No one can take that as a serious question......lmaoooo

Not Southern but Bielema had a winning record and 3 Rose Bowls....Kyle Flood....next question....

Kyle Flood named Offensive Coordinator, its all over twitter.

hehehe

If I was the A.D. There is no way I give a 1 year deal to anyone, not even Nick Saban. That is NOT how you build a program. BB seems to be in over his head trying to compete in the SEC West. The players seem to really like him, but he needs a few 4 star recruits at the skill positions. We will never get the 5 star recruits.

That's a warning sign. We had the same situation.

Good guys don't always win.

It's great to have a good relationship with your players, but not at the expense of performance. Saban, and many others, have figured out how to balance the relationships with getting the most out of performance.
