They're calling it Operation Scarlet and encouraging all to wear scarlet, and it is red glow stick night as everyone in the lower bowl and student section get a red glow stick. What they SHOULD do for this game is pony up and make it free tshirt night. College kids don't swarm for glowsticks. But free tees? Would be like moths swarming to a dim lit bulb.

Crap! My bad fellas... I had SHU on the mind. What I described is for the game against SHU, NOT tomorrow night vs. FSU. But my point's still valid for the Shoe game.

It's like that every year. I think they trick the freshmen into going to the first game somehow and then it's "been there, done that" and no one returns.

Actually it's because of "Greek Night." They have fraternities come en masse to the game, sit on their hands, and not wear red. It's better than having nobody, though.

Tonight is "Greek Night #2"so I suspect we'll have a pretty solid group of students from the fraternities and more students coming for the brand name of FSU.

Just took a quick peek at scarletknights.com. We'll be lucky to get 5,000 in house. How many walk ups can we expect? A few hundred maybe? The students have the biggest power to swing this.

At every game and looking forward to our biggest challenge to date. 5m is probably realistic but love to see the day when we sell out. Hopefully, that day is sooner than later.

It will take a major undertaking in advertising to get NJ sports fans supporting college athletics on a sustained basis. Rutgers can't even get alumni,faculty/employees and students to sellout a 8000 seat RAC.Its truly embarrassing for a state university the size of Rutgers.

The students were there..the rest of the representation from RU alums and NJ residents was quite poor...the upper levels empty and basically the same amount in those sections as previous game. Hopefully MSU can break 6k...our 4 biggest home games are all early so hope fans arent waiting...Fsu, msu, shu, and wisky

bac, I'd rate the Purdue and Northwestern games in February just as big. The Wildcats have been a bit of a disappointment, losing three games thus far....by 4 to Creighton and by 1 to Ga. Tech on a last second shot; their only bad loss was vs. a good Texas Tech team. I'm pretty confident Chris Collins' bunch will be dancing again this season.

True, it seems alums only come out for weekend Big10 games these days. The fan following has really diminished over the years, with good reason. Hopefully, Pike can restore the RACmosphere of old, but it will take time . . . and much more winning at home.
