Always read, rarely post. Thought this was important enough to post.
For our travelers, route 78 is closed both ways thru Hunterdon county. Cars are being turned around and warned not to pick up hitchhikers. It has been closed for several hours.

I hope everyone is ok, my first thought when I saw the fm 101.5 logo was that it was a conspiracy to keep Rutgers fans out of PA

Just heard over my scanner: The fleeing "subjects" are Brian Leonard and that Fillipino kicker, suspects in a string of car jackings.

Aided and abetted supernaturally by the ghost of Paul Robeson.

Maybe they are after Flood, caught him trying to head for PA, those ankle bracelets are biotch

To reiterate, one of the suspects is a Fillipino kicker from Rutgers who authorities are not identifying. The pay board has known his identity for a while now, but of course I won't be diverging that here

"State Police Investigating Damage to Marked Troop Car

Troop Car Damaged on Interstate 78 in Clinton Township

Clinton Township, N.J. – The New Jersey State Police is investigating the circumstances of an incident that occurred earlier this morning where a marked State Police Chevrolet Tahoe was damaged while stopped on the westbound right shoulder of Interstate 78.

...
At 4:25 a.m., troopers from Perryville Station responded to a single-car crash at milepost 19.5. Antonio Melendez, Jr., 29, of Phillipsburg, N.J., was driving a 2000 Honda Civic when he crashed on the right shoulder of the roadway. While the troopers were attending to Melendez, the rear window of the State Police Tahoe was struck and shattered by an unknown object.

There was a search in the area of the crash for potential subjects immediately following the broken window, but no suspicious persons were located. Both directions of Interstate 78 were temporarily closed due to the investigation. No one was injured as a result of the incident.

State Police Major Crimes Unit, Fatal Accident Unit, Crime Scene Investigations Unit, Troop “B” Criminal Investigations Office, and T.E.A.M.S Unit North, responded to the location to investigate. Antonio Melendez, Jr. was taken to Hunterdon Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries sustained during the accident.

The crash and troop car incident remain under investigation. There are no charges at this time and no further information available. "
