Henry Rowan, after whom Rowan was renamed in 1992, has given a $15 million gift to the engineering school, $1 million a year for 15 years. Too bad we don't have donors like that.

Rowan's enginerring program is highly rated. I've visited their building a couple of times, and it's pretty nice.

I don't know why they needed to name the engineering college after Henry Rowan when the WHOLE UNIVERSITY is named after him, plus Gloucester County College also took Rowan's name after a credit transfer partnership.

Don't get too disheartened. Rutgers is very close to announcing a record number of engineering donations to fund the new building. See the link.
I hope so. I'm really confident that I saw the Gateway Building on the Status of Significant Projects last year, but now it's not listed. Hopefully that means they're still raising funds and it'll go back on there next year.

Agree about naming the Eng School after him.. kinda sily as the whole damn school is named after him!

As far as quality of engineering school, I am amazed at what they accomplished in n 2 decades, but as far as Engineering schools in NJ it is still behind RU, NJIT, Stevens, and PU..

That's was his offer. Rowan graduated from Drexel. But pretty much paid for the association
