They did beat Georgia Southern way back in the day in the D1AA First Round when it was still called D1AA.

FYI, Texas State is the rebranded name of Southwest Texas State, which was the alma mater of LBJ.

Former UNM, TCU and A&M and Alabama coach Dennis Franchione guided the program into FBS over the past five years.

Very successful FCS team which recently made the transition to FBS via the Sun Belt. Nice modern stadium which seats about 25k. Tons of unheralded talent in Texas who don't make it to one of the P5 teams. Should be a win, but likely not a blowout.

I think when we played Quantico Marines in the 50'' s it wasn't a money thing, but we had to volunteer 5 people for the Marine Corp. Then they beat us too.
Crazy uniforms for those days. Sort of camo with orange helmets. They were more physical than us on that day. Only played them once.
