No one is happy with another road loss, or getting down big, but...

We were heavy underdogs (right, kyk?)

And once again, WE DID NOT QUIT.

I had no illusion of winning this game prior to tip, so in the end, I am very happy our guys and staff showed guts and fought back to cut it to 7.
Down 24, how many teams with as little talent as we have can do that on the road?

Don’t whine MD let up.
WE fought til the end.

I still say...

GOOD TIMES AHEAD.
Keep grinding.

Looks like RU put up a good fight ... hopefully the team plays hard versus OSU, and then beats Illinois at home!!!

We didn’t hold them to 61. MD could’ve drop 80 on us. They took their foot off the gas pedal and we made it look respectable.
Ehh disagree. They never really took their foot off the gas. We looked bad but maryland didnt just let up

I didn't even watch the game as I was out and I still know that's ridiculous. No team intentionally limits themselves to 61 points. Several of which were on foul shots at the end after deliberate fouls by us. They had 31 at halftime. Not thrilled with our team's performance but let's give credit to our defense.

That doesn’t make a lot of sense. Their whole bench played 31 minutes. Cowan played 39 minutes and Huerter 37. The coach was very intense throughout. If they were going to take their foot off the gas they would have rested people. Their offense was pretty much the same in the 2 halves, the difference was our offense picking up a bit.

MD kind of sort of let up, but not really. What does this mean? Cowan is basically the only real PG on the roster, hence all of the minutes. Late in games, MD starts to slow things down in an attempt to keep him from getting totally gassed. They start walking the ball up the court instead of pushing the pace. When this happens, our entire offense bogs down. This certainly happens in games where we are ahead and sometime even when we are behind. We end up dribbling around the perimeter and don't start running anything resembling an offense until there are around 12 ticks left on the shot clock. That said, I think MD scored 11 points over the final 15 minutes, which included some garbage free-throws at the end. Any way you slice it, that is just atrocious. RU had a shot to cut the lead to 5 with a couple of minutes left. Had you gotten it that close, all bets are off.

MD was never threatened in this game. They got out to big leads at the start and the half. They were up 41-19. Our D was horrendous. MD shot 50%. If you guys felt good about this loss, that means expectations have reached new lows.

But it was a nice comeback, starters were in and we did play well in the 2nd half. We did beat the spread.
