RU Morgan game thread

Better looks today but shots are not falling. A lot of standing around which is not good. Need to run more motion and attack the basket.

It would be so nice to have a guy that could consistently hit from the outside. Mike Williams one of these days will get out of his own head! He needs to have short term memory.

Fully agree, it is why we can't survive those runs we gave up to Miami at the beginning of each half. We need to play the full 40minutes. We don't shoot well enough to go on runs like that against the quality teams so we need to work, work, work for the entire game.

This is why I caution those getting too optimistic about Conference play...its a flawed team that needs to work hard. It works against lesser teams but we are in trouble against good teams if we arent focused..shot selection is quite poor tonight

It's Morgan State, but the start of each half has to generate points from Thiam or Laurent, so when Nigel and Mike Williams come in after 3-4 minutes, we have the ability to extend leads....I think eventually, the plus/minus of what our roster looks like with Williams and Nigel on the court is likely becoming a factor.

Thiam needs to get some shot attempts or get to the FT line early in the 2nd half, so he can extend this lead and then the guards can finish adding to the lead to it gets into double digits....Thiam needs more minutes regardless, he's the only reasonable shooter we can throw at teams right now.

Sanders is a terrible outside shooter.
His strength is in getting to the hole. If we had a strong 2 (Mike is shooting well this year), such as Thiam, and even a 3 who could draw the defense out, Corey would look all world. He would drive and dish, but as yet we don't have guys who consistently bury it. I think as the season goes on, Mike will develop a more reliable shot because he is working on it in practice (and worked on it in the offseason), and I hope Thiam learns how to move behind the arc to position himself for a quick release.

My sense watching Corey is that due to his lackadaisical passing beyond the arc and sporadic shooting, he'll be back next year. This makes me happy because I love that guy and what he brings to the team. Another year of growth and recruiting and we could have something special. Sa has a huge upside, too.

Hope they don't play like they did the last half.

I know Sanders thought about leaving for the NBA last year but am I missing something. He's a good player but I don't think I am watching an NBA quality player there.

That's why none of the teams showed any interest.

From the camera angles looks like a good crowd, at least in the lower level.

Totally agree. He's good, but he's not NBA level. Maybe he can be, but I think it would come from staying at RU all four years and continuing to be coached up by Pike. Honestly, I hope in the end that's what happens. Would be the best for him and for the team.

Starting to dominate. Can we keep up the pace and open it up or do we let them back in it. Up by 14 and going to the line.
