RU offers PSU commit Michael Dwumfour from DePaul Catholic

Read an article on another site last night, and he is not likely to flip. Chances seem very low.

yeah, he ain't going anywhere. a bit of an overreaction to Ash offering a committed player. nothing new in the crazy recruiting world

I don't get why you guys act so "minor league" about this stuff. How is it a public shot to Franklin? Are you not supposed to offer verbally committed players?
I mean I understand your excitement over Ash but he's not doing anything 99% of coaches around the country aren't doing. Even Flood offered committed guys and yes, even committed PSU guys. Being excited for your new coach doesn't mean your former coach sat on his hands all day--he wasn't very effective, but I do believe he tried.

I should add that it is nice to see you guys excited for your program again though!!

Because we were "minor league" about this stuff for the entire Flood error

With your response, "you guys" is it safe to assume your a psu fan?
Who me? What would make you think that? lol. Yes, die hard fan (and not well-liked by some of your fans).

Ash will be great for you guys, just give him time to learn and grow as a head coach. It's hard when relationships are severed with the players on the team and the previous staff, expect some of the players to not be very open and trusting to a new staff but it will be up to the staff to break down those walls and get the players "all in". It seems easy to do from outside the football building but harder to accomplish within. Some of your players will have had several coaches at this point.

Thank you, Capt. Obvious.

Realize that Flood couldn't flip a coin

Don't get why going after the defensive players from PSU, their D coordinator is probably a more well known coordinator and until he leaves PSU (soon I'm sure) his defenses will be top 3 in the big ten like this year and last. Go for offensive players from PSU, they don't even have an O coordinator

Doesn't matter what side of the ball...Ash is offering a NJ player who didn't previously hold an offer from the state U of NJ even though he's certainly worthy of one. As far as Shoop goes, yes he's a damn good defensive coordinator but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try. Sure we probably don't flip him but we are letting NJ's top kids know that they are priorities for us. That stuff permeates into the next class and so on and so on. Ash just got here too late for the party for this particular 2016 class.

Am I wrong or does it seem that Ash is going after committed Jersey kids trying to flip them? this guy and the guy from pitt are both from NJ right?

The fact that RU guys are so excited about him offering this kid and looking to take over the state shows just how low their expectations are as a result of being sold a bunch of BS (no flame meant). Of course he is going after the top NJ kids. ..that's what HCS are supposed to do. Unfortunately for RU, Flood was a wussy and couldn't recruit for crap so he convinced the fans they should think as small as he did. Hope u don't get Dwumfour but good luck with the PITT kid.

Will be interesting to see. Shoop didn't do so well as HC his first go round.

Geez..how bad was Flood ? I think as time goes by we're going to see a lot worse than we thought. The fact this guy was HC in the Big Ten for 2 years was a tragedy (hey good Bee Gees song).

There's also a chance of flipping KIY Hester's brother (DePaul) Quayshon Alexander (sp?)

he was brutal and when he first took over I cant figure out why so many turned on GS and were in favor of him. He just did not have it I can see it I'm sure the recruits did. why are you so surprised?

It's really fascinating. Ash has been the coach for a few days, and already you're seeing all these stories about recruits (who wanted nothing to do with Flood) talk about how interested and excited they are about the new hire. It seems like the excuses for Flood's recruiting shortcomings were endless these last three years. Just goes to show the difference a good hire can make.

so I know some about the kid and he wanted PSU offer badly and jumped it

still think he goes there but....

apparently some bigtime DT's ain't making grades and MD is getting new attention

if Rashan goes Mich look out for his buddy thinking about it too...

can't see RU at all but VERY glad Ash taking a swing at it...

And yet, there are also a lot of recruits we have that loved Coach Flood.
I'm not saying he was great at recruiting but the story can be flipped either way...

We're going to find out real quick what our new coach is made of. Loving this.
It has very little to do with Ash but rather the perception of Penn State in NJ which has been very strong.Fans are setting themselves up for disappointment expecting a flip to Rutgers so early in the Ash tenure.Fuller is another example where Rutgers has to compete with Notre Dame and Ohio State to just name two elite schools after this top NJ recruit.

The proof is in the classes that committed

Everybody loves him when they were a 2 star "athlete" with offers from non P5 schools, not so much when they blew up and attracted attention from other P5 schools

I'm trying to to make this a pro Flood comment as he did Lise on a lot of high rated recruits but our top guys are pretty fond of him. Russo, Pollock, Rene etc
I think Ash is going to kill it in recruiting but it isn't only 2 star walkons that loved Flood.

Pollock's offer list is pretty meh and Russo's is even worse. Let's not get carried away with the recruiting prowess of Kyle Flood. He sucked as a recruiter.

They are pretty fond of him now

My point was that Flood could never maintain the love through signing day

You could build a hell of a recruiting class from people who "loved" Flood but ended up elsewhere

So was Temples award winning MLB...Matekevich..i think the spellings wrong but you get the idea...
