I do not know a lot about wrestling, I'll admit. Still I DVR'd the RU=OSU wrestling match the other night. How exciting!

Ohio State was #4 in the country, and I think RU was #16 (?). Ohio State had the higher ranked wrestler in 7 of 10 matches. EVEN SO .... RU was down 14-9, before winning 2 consecutive matches to take a 15-14 lead going into the heavy weight match, the last match .. OSU's #7 ranked wrestler vs RU's #8 ranked wrestler ... tied at 1-1 until 20 seconds left in the 3rd round, when the OSU guy got a good 3-point fall to win 4-1. There were SO MANY close matches throughout, FYI - I think only 2 of 10 matches were decided by more than 3-points (the equivalent of a 1-possession game) - RU won the 1st game by more than 3 points, I think - but not enough for a "major" or technical win worth 5 team points.

So OSU won 17-15, unfortunately - the difference being OSU's #1 ranked wrestler (in 1 of the lower weights - the 3rd weight class that wrestled, I think, after RU went up 6-0 as a team) earned a "major" win on technical default (15+ points ahead - and the match ends) - that is worth 5 team points, instead of the 3 points for a regular "win." Those 2 extra points were the difference.
