RU72 says bad turnout from Rutgers vs Princeton so far

I like the idea of playing Princeton but it needs to be a home and home. My son and I are going but for me the primary attraction is spending time with him. We will stop at a Italian place in Robbinsville (something Tomato Pie?) that is supposed to be worthwhile.

Worked in Trenton for over 30 years - unfortunately the city has seriously declined. Almost all of the nice restaurants and fun bars are long gone. Still going to the game and will pre game somewhere but it sad to see the state capitol in such condition.

It’s not bad. It’s not dangerous. Just use some common sense.
Walking from the 125th street train station to Morningside Heights in Manhattan is dangerous. Walking from the train station on the south side of Chicago to the University of Chicago is dangerous. Walking to the Trenton arena is not dangerous.

Depends where you are walking from.

From the two parking lots within the arena property? Not at all. I’d even suggest fans drink a few brews in the lot

From basically anywhere else in Trenton at night? Very possible.

Though a dude was shanked to death inside of the arena this year

People scream about upgrading our schedule

Do you think good teams will just play at RAC without a return

Isnt this a type of game fans were asking for to replace the 300s.

Now that it is on the schedule peolle are changing their mind
So play home and homes?

Plenty of security during events and there are a lot worse areas
A guy was stabbed dead in the arena after my son's HS basketball game vs Trenton in the mercer county playoffs last season. Kids were in lockdown for almost an hour after the game. There are metal detectors and I would assume security for RU vs PU will be a bit more beefy than the mercer county hs playoffs. Get there early so you get parking close to the arena.

I will be there too with 3 others. And like many RU fans I did not buy tickets through RU in order to get better seats. So I don’t think the fact that RU only sold 2,000 is indicative of the total number of RU fans who will attend.

Hopefully the RU fans are loud, Trenton is Central Jersey and not that far from campus.

The neutral site game vs Temple in CT sounded like a morgue.

I bought my ticket through Ticketmaster? Did I do it wrong?
same here. So you can't quote Rutgers crowd by who bought thru them. Not a STH and figured I'd get shut out so bought hour one.
Now looking back I could have saved some cash but.. expect a decent crowd (for the record my son and his friend have my tix cause of my back but I'll be represented :)

PS: I assume spinal surgery keeps me off the clown list :)

It’s a really bad area but agree an easy/safe ride to the parking lots that are within the arena property
You can say the same things about most places. I wouldn’t go wandering around Newark but have no issues going to the arena. Liacouras Center at Temple is a different story, but I still go.

If this game were yesterday, I would have been there with bells on: but a Monday evening in Trenton is a TOUGH sell for anyone in North Jersey. Long drive, terrible traffic. I'd be getting out of work at 5 and driving down from Paramus at the worst possible time. I just can't. Sorry: call me a bad fan if you must.

Central Jersey ends at Princeton maybe Lawrenceville. Lol! I always thought South Jersey started at Trenton!! Although understand that Trenton is North Jersey for lots of Southern folk.

Ever been on grand jury duty in Trenton. They release jurors during daylight and literally tell you to get to train station before dark for safety. Not a ringing endorsement.

Trenton is literally on the mid-line of the state. Some will call it south jersey, some north jersey. But in reality, it is on the western edge of the central part of the state. Regardless what we call it, it’s only 1/2 hour from the RAC and pretty easy to get to. Let’s pack the place tonight.

Not sure about easy to get there or a half hour during rush hour but hope for a good crowd as it’s a series we should always play.

Holy cow, we agree on something. You're right - there's zero chance you're making it from the RAC to Trenton in 30 minutes even at 3 a.m.. And at this time of day, it's probably double that.

Probably the last time they will play a game at the Cure. A large portion of the crowd arrived very late...and it sounds like parking was the issue. I know of some people that just turned around and went home. Just make it a home and home.

Parking was definitely an issue. Who ever was in charge of counting the cars that went into lot 1 sure didn’t do their job.
