The NFL players in Tampa did not want to be treated like players who needed to show some discipline (which is why the owners hired Schiano.. they wanted a culture change).

The NFL media in Tampa did not want their access to NFL players interfered with.

Tampa did not see success until they got GOAT Tom Brady who could demand discipline from the team and they listened. If the media had supported Schiano by telling the truth that the team needed some discipline and professionalism instilled in it... then Schiano would have had a chance at success.

...so, no, Schiano is not a candidate in Chicago. Most NFL players have been treated like superstars their entire lives.. phenomenal athletes.. catered to. That's not Schiano. In the olden days before free agency coaches could demand discipline. No more. And NIL is making it worse. The best hope for any team is to have a superstar team leader and team captains who have earned respect demand discipline and professionalism from the players.

THEN AGAIN.. Schiano was a young assistant in Chicago in 96-97 and was promoted to DB coach before he moved to #1 U Miami as DC. Maybe there is some prior relationship there? Meh.. the Dave Wannstadt years for the Bears were not good one.
