Rutgers Announces Football Gameday Themes And Ticket Promotion Schedule

Can they please go back to the Block R schedule. The ones they gave out the past few years were terrible

REMEMBER that children ages 12 and under can get FREE tickets for some games. PLEASE share this with your Pop Warner / AYF teams and other families. Here is the information--http://www.scarletknights.com/ot/jrknights.html or call the Rutgers tickets office at 866-445-4678 Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00.

When you walked through New Brunswick you could see the Block R in every store window. It was everywhere and easily seen by everyone. Now most places don't even put the schedule in the window.
I haven't seen a Rutgers Football schedule at any of the Jersey Shore bars since they stopped making them.
I see that marketing, promotion and branding aren't any of your strong points.

Surprised the Iowa game isn't the same price as PSU and Michigan.

Whitebus,
I have been saying this for a few years now,but Rutgers REALLY needs to find a way to get the Rutgers magnets FREE to people all over the state--from Sussex to Cape May counties. It is the best marketing move the athletics department has ever made, but unless someone gets season tickets or finds the table at games they don't have access to them. The one place that quickly comes to mind is the Shop-Rites who happens to be one of our major sponors. As far as I know, they are in just about every county. I think in New Jersey you can't require a purchase for a giveaway so they would just be FREE to anyone who asks. Before you know it,Rutgers would have tens of thousands of mini billboards driving around the state. Maybe make some type of packet with a Rutgers magnet and ticket brochure.--Other possible places to get them would be Wawas,Quik Cheks, gas stations, sports bars,Burger Kings/McDonalds

Interesting that the State Penn game isn't part of any mini plan. Also interesting that New Mexico and Iowa are the same price. I would have made Iowa a little more and New Mexico a bit less.

Man you complain about some shilly shit. Again, these things aren't just designed for 50 year old men.

I'm a 19 year old college student, and I completely agree with WhiteBus here. And I almost NEVER agree with WhiteBus. The Block R Schedule posters were a great idea that really differentiated the posters and made them something to hang up.

The Block R poster were great. Has nothing to do with age. Has everything to do with branding. VKJ and his likes are the grouchy old men.
Put the Block R everywhere.
Some people just don't get it.

You can put the block R everywhere without it being the only theme. You guys talk about recruiting, success, branding, and NJ pride but you can't get away from a block R and Boring uniforms. You want block R's all over campus? Great go print 500 of them and place them in every store. You want kids to cheer for Rutgers and identify with the team then the block R ain't getting it done. My son had a great meeting with Paul James on Saturday. He only recognized him because the schedule is hanging in his room from last spring game.

Wow! For a guy that is so self centered that you brand you own cigars you don't understand anything about marketing and promotions. Unreal.

The old Block R Schedule Posters had pictures of the players on them too you know...

I'm sorry, but I really don't think you're right here. Rutgers went through literally decades of trying to find the right branding logo, and hit solid gold with the Block R. It's our Michigan M, our Block O, our Miami U. If Rutgers is smart, the Block R will outlast any uniform design, traditional or no.
