MEN’S GOLF
The golfers participated in the East Bay Classic at Kiawah, South Carolina, where they finished 11th in a field of 22. FWIW, they placed ahead of the two other B1G entries in the field, Nebraska and Maryland. The top RU finisher was Toks Pedro who came in 11th at one over par for the three round tournament. Tennessee was the winner, followed by Augusta University, and host school College of Charleston. This concludes the team’s Fall schedule. They now take a three month hiatus, and resume in February for the B1G Match Play championship.

MEN’S SOCCER
A disappointing one-win season ended on Saturday with a first round 2-1 loss to Michigan in the B1G tournament. Congratulations to Tim McQuaid for making the All-Freshman team, and to Ross Tetro for being awarded the conference Sportsmanship Award.

WOMEN’S FIELD HOCKEY
The season ended on Thursday with a 3-1 loss to #3 Maryland in the first round of the B1G tournament. The team concluded the season at the .500 mark with an overall 9-9 record, 2-6 in the conference. Congratulations to Alyssa Bull for being named second team All-Conference, and to Devon Freshnock for receiving the Sportsmanship Award.

WOMEN’S GOLF
The golfers participated in the Idle Hour Collegiate Championship in Macon GA, where they finished eighth in a field of twelve. Emily Mills led the team with a score of +11 for the three round tournament, good for a tie for 17th. The host school Mercer won the tournament, followed by Southern Mississippi and Toledo. Like the men, the women now take the winter off and resume in February. (BTW, the same is true of the Women’s Tennis team, which had previously completed its fall season.)

WOMEN’S ROWING
The rowing team hosted the Rutgers Fall Classic Regatta on Sunday, and defeated Lehigh in fours. There was also a men’s competition which I assume involved the men’s club team, which is outside the scope of these reports. The rowers now take the winter off, which makes sense given that water freezes, and resume in March.

WOMEN’S SOCCER
The #25 soccer team came very close to winning RU’s first B1G championship, losing a 2-1 heartbreaker to the top seeded host school, #8 ranked Minnesota, on a goal in the 85th minute. Prior to that, the team upset #17 Northwestern 1-0, on a goal in the 7th minute by Colby Ciarocca. The overall record now stands at 11-4-6. The team now awaits an NCAA bid which will most likely be forthcoming.

WOMEN’S SWIMMING/DIVING
You will all be pleased to know that one Rutgers team had a home win on Saturday afternoon. Actually, two wins. In a quadrangular meet at the Aquatics Center, the swimmers and divers convincingly defeated Georgetown 233-119 and Seton Hall 269-77, while losing narrowly to Villanova 183.5-168.5. Ten of the RU athletes/teams won their respective events.
