Just a Great Win..had so much fun watching and tailgating in outfield during the game...The players parents are just amazing and the hospitality they show was just over the top..was fed all game by them and a couple cold ones..Do yourself a favor and go watch this Team for Free and Park for free...National leading 14 IN A ROW..THATS ALL YOU GOTTA KNOW!!

This was a grinder game. Pitching out of jams, great fielding, barely scoring on their ace, who was a seriously hard thrower, and coming through with a clutch hit. First game I've attended in a looong time and it was a great game. Even saw Owens get into it with the home plate umpire who apparently didn't see or hear Owens call for a time out. Owens jawed with him a bit and then continued it in between innings. No harm was done by the ump but Owens doesn't put up with shit from anyone.
Owens has put together a solid, and consistent, roster of pitchers and hitters. Fantastic job.
You are right the facilities and amenities are substandard but I’d rather have the league leading record, highest team batting average, lowest team E.R.A and best defense than a good PA system and readable scoreboard. Both would be better ,but for now let’s be happy with the product on the field. Just curious, how many fans showed up?
And to think Owens recruited this caliber team with a substandard ballpark, one helluva coach
I think the last time we hosted a regional it was held at Yogi Berra Stadium, Little Falls.
No way. I was there and between the stands around home plate, third base stands and fans in the outfield grass, easily 1000 people.
It’s amazing how much D1 talent there is on D2 programs. Owens has done a really nice job identifying who to recruit from the portal.

Exactly why folks like me said hire and spend $$ on the best basketball coach and stop the bs on needing the APS to recruit. ( And I'm not anti Pike but he's got to get it going. )
I have been a proponent for upgrades to the surrounding parts of the actual field for years it seems. The actual playing field is great and if we lifted it up and set it down on a stadium with lights, better seating , concession stands and sanitary facilities it would be fine. A better sound system? Heck the football stadium‘s is terrible still or am I overstating that? Those aesthetics are lacking but the product Owens has put on the field points to this eventually happening . Championships bring players…it all falls into place with that. Last several threads on this have conjectured prices in the NJ construction costs and if that be the case then do it over several years. Lights are the least of our concerns going forward so start with all the other things to give them a real on campus facility .
