Rutgers Football Season Opener Versus Ohio Moved To Thursday Night
Rutgers Football's season opener versus Ohio has been moved to Thursday night.
Thursday night causes that? Guess you are down for the week rather than the long weekend?Guess I'm watching from the Shore again.
Yeah, we always do the week before Labor Day because of camp/school scheduling. Last year we even cut it short and left the Saturday open specifically to make the opener. Then they moved the game and we were able to add the Saturday back on. We actually ended up watching the game from Asbury Park brewery which was a lot of fun.Thursday night causes that? Some of those are legit complaints.Thursday: Rutgers sucks. People have work. Can’t have the game this day.
Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday: Rutgers sucks. This is NJ. We go down the shore for LDW. Can’t have the game these days.
Monday night: Rutgers sucks. People have work the next day. Can’t have the game this late in the day.
I’ll leave out “Afternoon? Rutgers sucks. It’s going to be scorching hot. Can’t have the game this early in the day.”
I guess I don’t understand this. People from all over NJ and much farther attend RU football games. Why would someone at the shore for the week not be able to drive an hour to the game?Yeah, we always do the week before Labor Day because of camp/school scheduling. Too late. 6 p.m.Fine. Prefer Friday but whatever.
Hopefully a 8pm kickoff for those who are working that day.

For LDW (or any early September game), again legit complaint.Nice summary, lol.
Think you only missed, "12 pm kickoff, what about my 10-hr tailgate?!"
Because, as some have already stated, it’s their week. Maybe they don’t get any other time than that. Maybe the group they’re with aren’t diehards for RU Football like we are.I guess I don’t understand this. People from all over NJ and much farther attend RU football games. I get that. But when we are home on Labor Day weekend, it's pretty common that games get moved to Thursday or Friday nights. This is nothing new yet the board always gets upset about it.Because, as some have already stated, it’s their week. Maybe they don’t get any other time than that. Maybe the group they’re with aren’t diehards for RU Football like we are.
And it’s not just the hour there and the hour back, it’s the 3+ while you’re there.
and they also don't realize Rutgers had nothing to do with when the game is played. BTN decidesThursday: Rutgers sucks. People have work. Can’t have the game this day.

the AD doesn't schedule when the games are played. The Big Ten and their TV partners doI'll repeat my comment from last year.
Rutgers needs to boycott the opening week of college football.
While the other 129 teams seem to make it work (noone else celebrates LDW like Rutgers fans apparently?), there just isn't a date and time that will satisfy the entire Rutgers football fanbase.
It's frankly negligence at this point by the AD to keep scheduling games for LDW.

All of which is fine. So don't go. Watch on TV. Or not.Because, as some have already stated, it’s their week. Maybe they don’t get any other time than that. Maybe the group they’re with aren’t diehards for RU Football like we are.

Only if you're willing to pay the difference in TV money, then Rutgers should keep the game on Saturday.😂I'll repeat my comment from last year.
