Rutgers Men's Soccer Hosts B1G Semifinal Against Ohio State Wednesday Night

RU is 1-7 all time in B1G finals … so it can be done!!!!!!

Hoosiers score with 10 minutes left in first half. Up 1-0.

I wouldn't be so sure. Our RPI is only 51 right now, and if we beat OSU (#34 RPI), it could climb into the mid-40s, but not sure that's going to be enough with only 48 teams (23 autobids) making the tourney, and numerous autobids going to teams who are lower but win their conferences.
Always the optimist.

RU finished 2nd in baseball and 2nd in conference tourney and missed the cut … RU loses in soccer, might be in the same boat.

Root for Indy to win, then home field at RU. Need a strong turnout if at home.

Great win!!! We gutted it out.

Where was Brougey (sp?) He hurt?

Luckily there’s a committee and not just RPI to select the teams. The #2 team in the Big Ten standings who also makes the B1G Championship game is not being left out of the NCAA. Would set a bad precedent. This is the Big Ten not the Big East
That is what we said about baseball as well.

Ugh … UMD brought the pressure and just scored .., Indy still leads 2-1

UMD is playing like OSU … tons of pressure. UMD came inches from tying it. Hit the crossbar and just missed. Wow.

UMD is dominating … missing a lot of chances … will Indy hold on?

About 15 minutes until an RU home game .., is Indy going to Indy?

UMD misses a header, no call in the penalty box, and then another save by Indiana.

No call on an Indy takedown in the penalty box!!!!

On to Rutgers!!!!!

I said I love this bracket for us and how it could play out. Everything went perfectly. 1 to go let’s get it done!

Indiana wins? Great, we host the final! But now the pressure is higher IMO because a loss means another at-large bid disappears. Maryland is safely in anyway. Ohio State may be ahead of us, too. Would the B1G get four bids? Let's not leave this in the hands of the committee!

Great crowd, perfect weather for soccer, awesome win! Although there were some tense moments after calls/non-calls, we kept our cool overall. Dalton's play is an unexpected pleasant surprise!

Anyone know what's up with Cole Sotack? He played in a bunch of games and started several. He's been solid in the back and we could've used him esp. when Le Guennec went out for treatment. Is he injured?

How on God's Green Earth does it put "more pressure" on us? That's just silly. "Gotta be in it to win it!"

Easy. There are 48 spots in the NCAAs with only 25 at-large bids available and 23 AQ slots. Maryland just locked up one of those at-large bids, make it 22.

My point is simple. Yes, a win gets us in. But a loss at home to Indiana now would probably leave us out. A road loss to Maryland would look better for us. The loser on Sunday will likely be out IMO.
