In the second half Rutgers realize it's better to pound the ball inside the 3 line for easier basketball. Meanwhile, North Texas live by the 3 and die by the 3.
The run stops with RU up 61-42, now 61-44. However, that now makes it ALL 5 games this year that this team has been winning by at least 19 points at some point in 2nd half. That stat alone is crazy.
I like this line: Sanders 9 pts, 6 reb., 6 ast. and only 1 TO. He's making a strong effort to get others involved. Another crazy stat: Rutgers out rebounded North Texas by 25.
I got scared at the beginning of the game and even the first half. RU settled down nicely and Pikiell made some good adjustments at the half or said something that worked. Just worrisome to have stale offense two games in a row. Against even the mid-level teams (or basement) of the Big 10 RU loses this game. Hope Pikiell keeps the team improving. He is THE MAN!!!
Our Best lineup may be Sanders, Johnson, Williams, Freeman and ( Gettys or Sa). Obviously, it depends on the matchup. Either way this team has the flexibility to play any way it needs.....traditional, small ball or Go big. That's Nice !
Scored 66 going 3-20 from three. We are really good defensively and crazy good on the glass. 53-28 on the boards. We are learning to turn that defense into transition. Thats the best I've seen us run off opponent misses this year. Boy, this guy can coach.
