They played Sat. In a regular season game won by Gill by about 7. This is a county tournament semi game 4 RP vrs Gill number 1.

I saw him against Ranney on TV and he looked damn good. I didn't see him shoot much, but the rest of his game was excellent.. Really good passer and ball handler. Oh, and he seems to be able to make free throws too.
Ranney had two guys going to big-time programs next year (Florida and Villanova) and he was easily the best player on the court. He'll be running RU's offense soon enough.

I was there. Paul was unstoppable going to the basket. Deceivingly quick, great body control often changing hands in the air to finish around the rim. Great up and under moves, scoop shots, he just knows how to avoid getting his blocked. Hit his first 3 of the night, but probably missed the next 5 or 6. As I've said before, tremendous court vision, great passer. He also pretty much shut down Trey Patterson and made him a non-factor. Not concerned like some about his defense. .

As RUIssy said. Looks like RP changed their D strategy this game to not switch on picks; Mulcahy just kept taking it right to the hole. Great vision & passer.

As most incoming freshmen, he’ll have to work on the usual : get stronger & work on his D. His long range shot rotation looks good, but he wasn’t hitting last night.

Trey Paterson from RP.....not impressed. I’ve seen hm a few times the last 2 years. He obviously had/has size coming in as a freshman last year, but he needs some better coaching / training / motivation. Hopefully the fire gets lit and it starts clicking for him next year.

PM avgs a triple double according to Central NJ stats link somebody posted in here other day

Yep, actually probably graduated in 82 as he was on NC State in 83.
There were a few high profile recruits in our area around that time that didn't really give us a look: Dinky Proctor, Tim Harvey at Plainfield and John Hemphill at Union Catholic. I don't think any of them did too much on the court in college. We did okay with that Hinson guy.

Still grateful that we beat out Wagner for Hinson and made him a late addition to the recruiting class. Many were upset that we didn’t save that last scholarship to the next year because we had a stud named Jeff Allen, who we beat out Villanova for, in the class already. Villanova settled on John Pinone when they couldn’t change Allen’s mind. Recruiting is an inexact science.
