Rutgers to host largest list of football recruits all-time for showdown versus Wisconsin Badgers

Doesn't look like a big crowd coming
I just looked at Stubhub and 2 tickets together were $8 each (without the gouge)
1 ticket was the same.

Yom Kippur starts at sundown Friday and continues until the following sundown or longer. I'm sure that will impact the size of the crowd.

It's interesting to note that the first Rutgers home game played on a Sunday was September 21, 1980 vs. Cincinnati. The game was originally scheduled on that holiday. A week or two before the game, students lobbied Rutgers and Rutgers asked Cincinnati if they would move the game to Sunday. And they did. Rutgers won that contest 24-7.

The last home game to be postponed before this, for religious reasons, was Princeton vs. Rutgers. It was suppose to be on November 1, 1882 but was switched to November 12th for "...having been set apart by the Synod of the Reformed Church for fasting and prayer.” November 1 is All Saints Day.

Why the Wisconsin game though? We could have had them at the Washington game which would've been perfect.

Definitely have to win this Wisconsin game now that recruits are watching and since we lost our last game to Nebraska.

Tariq Hayer is going to be a beast and he plays safety. FYI: I'm a little bias because that's my little cousin.

Money dictates the game goes on. Back when Rutgers and Cincinnati moved the game, the sport was still about the college experience.

I come to Source for all of my Rutgers / Jewish High Holy Day trivia.

That was a Friday night game. How many recruits had games?

Agreed. But since this is a BTN game with a little wiggle room for airing, why didn't they play it at 8pm when they could draw a larger stadium crowd? Would doing that actually lose money compared to airing it at noon with less in attendance and more eyeballs watching on TV? Or would that interfere too much with the airing of other B1G games on other channels?

Ohio St. vs. Oregon at 7:30 but not on the Big 10 network.

I think it’s going to take a long period of sustained winning before RU will be able to fill up the stadium for all home games.

If we won last week, would the attendance have been better tomorrow?

If so, then doesn't that mean the Jewish holiday would have minimal impact on attendance?

Many kids play HS football Friday night or are instructed to get a good night sleep the night before.

Love the positive vibes....

I’m a homer as much as anyone (maybe not RutgersAL level). But just calling it as it is. Wouldn’t say it on a message board typically but there’s a lot of signs unfortunately which is disappointing given the teams start and this is a NEED / SHOULD \ COULD win game

Its also supposed to be a beautiful fall day during peak leaf peeping season.
Getting buzzed in parking lot and spending 3.5 hours waiting for timeouts to end isn't as fun as it might have been

Michie at West Point will be magificient tomorrow. But I don't think most of the recruits are interested in leaf peeping.

If we can postpone football for religious reasons, it seems only right that we could sometimes postpone religion for football reasons.

Your cousin is listed at 6'0" 175, has he added any weight since that measurement? Are any other schools still after him?

Don't know if he's added weight. Looks the same. He has a sh*t load of offers, but 99.9% of the Hayer family lives in Bergen and Passaic Counties. He will continue the list of Hayers to play for Rutgers. It's been me, Kevin Wilkins, and Devon Larkins. I wished Ezekiel Elliott joined us, but he was set on staying out in the Midwest. He just likes to visit NJ. Lol

Most of these recruits probably played that Friday night

I thought of going but UAB is bad and a blowout waiting to happen.
The roads in the Highlands are a nightmare in mid October (tourists/Octoberfesters cause accidents on tight roads).
I toyed with idea of going to RU game but I haven't been live at a game since a UNC blowout and don't know the ropes (parking etc)
