Yes. Coming into the meet Alexandra led the B1G with her 4:31.51, and Olivia Howell, who beat Alexandra in the mile today, had the second best performance coming into the meet with a 4:33.77.Thanks for the update. Was watching the Women’s 800 and lost the stream as Johnson was making her move at around 600 meters. Great performance by her. Do you know if Carlson’s best time of 4:31 coming into this meet was the fastest this season in the B1G?
Alexandra also had the best time in the conference this season in the 3000m race, while Olivia Howell has been more of an 800-mile specialist, where she had the second best conference performance in each of those events coming into the championships.
The women's 3000 is coming up in a few minutes. Alexandra is entered, and barring a scratch, it'll be interesting to see how the earlier mile affects her. Justin Cornetta finished 6th in the men's mile earlier today, but was a "Did Not Finish" in the 3000 that just concluded. Many of the top B1G 3000m runners are running the women's 3000 fresh Hopefully Alexandra will still have plenty in the tank.. She's run over 4 seconds faster than anyone else in the B1G so far this season.
