This match will be closer than many would think it's be. Lock Haven is an underrated team and I think they will be hungry for an upset. Rutgers can't afford to be looking ahead to Iowa or this trap match will get them.

125 Suriano Major, RU 4-0
133 Delvecchio Major, RU 8-0
141 MVB Lose, RU 8-3
149 DeLuca Lose, RU 8-6
157 Lewis Tech, RU 13-6
165 JVB vs Marstellar. Heart says JVB upset, head says close loss. RU 13-9
174 Grello starts and wins. RU 16-9
184 Gravina Major Win. RU 20-9
197 Mulligan Win, RU 23-9
HVY Gross Major Loss, RU 23-13 Final.

Lock Haven has an excellent dual meet team this season and matches up very well against RU. LHU is calling for a white out in Thomas Fieldhouse and that should lead to a home mat advantage. LHU can throw up bonus points. Shoop already TF VanBrill @141, Marststeller will most likely TF if not JVB and might possibly bonus him also. Gross has been pinned in the 1st period by Haines @285. RU better be ready to go in this one and you can bet for sure that Goodale will have the Scarlet Knights ready when he travels to his Alma mater.

125 Suriano TF Kline 5-0 RU
133 Delvecchio DEC Fehlman 8-0 RU
141 Shoop DEC MVB 8-3 RU
149 Perry DEC DeLuca 8-6 RU
157 Lewis MD Klucker 12-6 RU
165 Marstellar DEC JVB 12-9 RU
174 RU DEC Hazel 15-9 RU
184 Gravina TF Hartsock 20-9 RU
197 Mulligan DEC Sponseller 23-9 RU
285 Haines MD Gros 23-13 RU

It is a dangerous dual, 197 could go the other way, Marstellar could bonus at 165, Shoop could get bonus (but I think the TF was a one-off). Is Lewis going to go? If not that is going to be a big swing in the other direction because the LH kid is very dangerous. Kid is a pinner and can put you on your back from anywhere.

I think RU should win comfortably, but if Lewis doesn't go they will really need to be on their game.

I'm taking Deluca over Perry at 149. And is the lock haven guy at 141 supposed to be really good? I don't c a ranked guy there for lock haven.... I'll take MVB over him too

Is this going to be broadcast? Not on Flo :(, Not on B10

I would think if you go worst case scenario (Based on recent results and no JVB)
Give LH 141 the TF,
LH 165 the TF (without JVB) and
LH 285 the pin.
That is without any upsets, using dicemans predictions, 23-22 RU
Anything can happen.
PS: I don't "think" it will be that close.

the tourney last weekend where RU got to see, and compete against, the LH guys up close and personal was a great learning experience, and should help RU get up and have the right mindset for this dual.

Lewis and JVB status being up the air make predictions right now difficult.

looking forward to this dual. Will it be viewable online?

Shoop beat VanBrill 16-0 a couple weeks ago at the Army Invitational.

149 is a toss, what about Perry makes him the fav.?

Lewis had to make 70kg this past weekend, which is roughly 155 pounds. I don't see why weight would be an issue going forward. I'm sure he missed weight previously because he was more focused on Poland.

I also think MV wins in his rematch. I was shocked a non ranked guy beat him as bad as he did. I think we win 149 as well. I really think ED is better then people think. I don’t think we can win at 165. If we did it would be his biggest win of his career by far. Also call me crazy but I think Gross got caught and pinned quick against Haines. Don’t see that happening again and I see it a lot closer.

No offense, but 16-0 is as good an indicator of one wrestler being superior to the other as you can get. It's not like a fluky pin or a close match.

16-0, which means it was a takedown and multiple turns.
Note to MVB...DO NOT CHOOSE DOWN!!!!

It could also mean you had a s*it day. Everyone has one time to time. I had one today! MVB will win his match.

Would not be shocking to see MVB pull it off, as I posted above I think 16-0 is a one-off. Get the first TD and everything could change. That said, 16-0 is a beat down and you may as well pick an RU sweep if that's how you are going to do your predictions. I picked a DEC, should be closer, but Shoop has got to be the favorite here.

125 Suriano MD Kline 4-0 RU
133 Delvecchio DEC Fehlman 7-0 RU
141 Shoop DEC MVB 7-3 RU
149 DeLuca DEC Perry 10-3 RU
157 Lewis MD Klucker 14-3 RU If Lewis doesn't go give Klucher a MD of Donner 10-7 RU
165 Marstellar MD JVB 14-7 RU or (10-11)
174 Pagano/Grello DEC Siegrist/Hazel 17-7 RU or (13-11)
184 Gravina DEC Hazel/Hartsock 20-7 RU or (16-11) How healthy is Gravina, been wrestling with one arm.
197 Mulligan DEC Sponseller 23-7 RU (19-11)
285 Haines MD Normandia/Gross 23-11 RU (19-15) I put Normandia there because if RU is in position to win if they don't get pinned I think you see Normandia.

Chance became a father today, maybe he is too busy to make the match Friday.

Don't think that it will be that close either with the lineup intact. My point was if Lewis does not wrestle. Saw yesterday that McKee is not wrestling this weekend because of U23. Does anyone have an inkling about what Lewis' status is?

My inkling is that since Rutgers listed both Lewis and Donner in the preview we will not see Lewis. I would like Lewis to have a match before the Iowa dual next week and this would be a nice spot to get a match. Also surprised that they didn't list Grello with Pagano at 174.

That is Pagsno in the back next to Gravina. Wonder if he goes since he beat the LH kid 7-0 at Mat Town.

Why is out injury prone team having a meeting on a slippery wet floor? :sunglasses: ;) At least Gravina is bracing himself against the support column.

Not sure is JVB is healed yet so it would be interesting if Lewis goes up to 165 to tackle Marstellar?
