Rutgers vs Michigan State / Game Thread

This season we've lost to Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State by a combined score of 185-0. Ash is one heck of a recruiter if he can keep our class together after a run like that.

I don't. I was dumb enough to think we would be competitive in this game. Not win mind you...just competitive

Then you must not have been paying to close attention.

We have NO talent. None. If we are in any game against power teams, even MSU, we are playing the game of our lives and out playing our talent level by a lot.

Please stop referencing recruting rankings. They few players we had that had our classes where they were are all gone.

If it was about coaching, and schemes, our 1st Team D wouldn't have shut down their 2nd/3rd Team O. It's talent my friends. Coaching some, absolutely, but 90% talent right now.

Ash is a total fraud- I am embarrassed to be a fan today. This loss was unacceptable and it's on the staff.

Good luck holding on to that recruiting class. Kids are going to see right through this joke.

This is by far the lowest point this program has been since 2001. This is on Ash, can't blame flood for this blow out loss. Total joke. I am so pissed off and angry.

Our recruiting classes with all the players now longer with the program aren't likely to be ranked much higher than firman.

And transitive scores don't work.

You didn't see it once? Took Minnesota deep into the 4th quarter. Was beating Indiana in the 4th quarter. Tied with Iowa in the 4th quarter. Yeah there were some ugly games but you need to pump the brakes on the hopelessness
I hear you, but they've regressed since. The one thing I hoped Ash would bring was superior conditioning and gradual, measurable improvement so that we'd be a better team as the year progressed. Fundamentals haven't improved, in fact they've seemed to worsen. More than 2/3 of our starters are back from last year, and we look far worse than that team looked. And we thought that was rock bottom..

I don't think we've seen rock bottom yet.

But our O couldn't move the ball against their 2/3rd string D.

We had our 3rd string QB in the game who, obviously, can't pass the ball just yet and we know our OL is the equivalent of most B1G team's 2nd string and some 3rd team OL's. Their D was playing like mad-dogs out there too. I thought one guy was going to hump the grass after he made a tackle he was so juiced-up!

I'll hold negitive comments I might have about Ash's ability as a HC ( this season) to a minimum because he's new at the job and might not have the type of assistants that can help him keep from making some mistakes. But for those who claim his poop don't smell, take the plugs out of your nose and realize he does make mistakes and even with the lack of talent RU has right now a good HC would do better.
Right now I don't consider Ash to be a good HC, but realize he's just learning the ins and outs of being a HC with a roster that doesn't give him any room for mistakes and a staff that might not be quite up to B1G play with what they have ( talent wise) to work with.
Hopefully Ash can keep this team from giving up and play like there's no tomorrow the rest of this season.

now for this old standby #freeRettig
I was hoping to see him when it became apparent Oden wasn't going to destroy the Spartan D
Waqnted to see Hayden just chuck it and know that would probably lead to being sacked every time he attempted to pas, but was hoping for someone to give RU some kind of passing game today.
