Rutgers basketball fans and complaining about refs, name a more iconic duo.

Oh well. They are just better, but didn’t need 8 on 5 in first half and critical stretch late in 2nd.

And I see we’re still not giving 110 to the students? I have to imagine the demand is there, no? I couldn’t make the game tonight so I can’t really tell because when they show that end of the court you can’t even see halfway up the student section because it’s so ****ing dark. Another head-scratcher!!
Just taking the kids out of the game. As an undergrad I sat courtside!

We played well, not good enough. Fouls and foul line were the major difference. They attacked the paint far more successfully than we did.

If you watched any games reffed by Burr and Higgins against us, you at least would have ended that with a tear emoji.
I’m just tired of seeing people complain about the refs in every single game thread. There were some bad calls tonight, no doubt about that, but we just played the #9 team in the country close for 40 minutes with a bunch of freshman and sophomores playing significant. I would have loved to see an upset but when you are building the program in the way Pike is, sometimes getting beat by a great team like Michigan State is more beneficial for the growth of young players than winning.

Lots to build on from a house money game. The biggest positive I think was we got some nice contributions from our bench, in a game where our stars didn't deliver. McConnell played some really good minutes, as did a few others.

One area we really need to work on his defending ball screens. They got so much action from those.

1st half on the refs. 2nd half on us.
We lose an evenly called game, But we got the worst of the calls by FAR both halves. The hold on Issa and the non-walk on that big man both were calls that went against us, and what they were big calls.

We are less talented than many of the teams we will play in the Big Ten.

Hence we have to play harder, chippier, more physical. Hence we get more fouls called.

Let’s not blame the refs. Blame our cold spell in the 2nd half, our struggles foul shooting and the talent level. We’ll get there.

Typed that before the royal screw after the 6 pt play

I don’t think the refs were the reason we lost.
So I'll take that as a no. For the record, I don't think it's the reason we lost either and I never said that. As you really didn't answer my question yet decided to give a diversionary answer. But I didn't see it called down the line, we got quite a few questionable calls, them, more the benefit of the doubt. Where were their questionable calls?

Just watched that stretch again after the 6 pt play to the Winston bucket. 4 fouls on RU (1 that could have been a push off on Winston prior to his bucket), and a no walk call. The foul on Thiam precipitated my ‘Farce’ quip earlier in the thread.
